  1. I got an email from the Wilco support team thanking me for the solution. Sounds like they are working on fixing a bunch of the bugs in the plane. I don't know, I really have to give all of you developers out there a ton of credit, even the guys at Wilco. The work you all do is amazing. When I think how far flight simulation has come, I'm really blown away. Thank you for all of your work!
  2. Here is a screen shot of the Falcon on start up. I haven't figured out a way to load cold and dark, but I figured this was a good start.
  3. So here is what I did: Ran the installer and pointed to my default Prepar3d folder. This installed a Wilco/Falcon 7x folder. In the Falcon 7X folder, there are two folders with the files that are needed to run the gauges and displays. The Driver folder contains a file called Falcon7xFMS.dll and the Gauges folder has two files, Falcon7x.CAB and FalconCockpit.dll. I copied all of these files into the Wilco/Falcon 7x/SimObjects/Airplanes/Wilco_Dassault_Falcon7X/panel folder. You'll notice that there are the same files in this panel folder but they are an older date. I created an archive folder and put the old files there. Once I did that, I was able to run the Falcon. I was able to update all of the nav data using Navigraph and as I mentioned, I did a test flight from KATL to KIAD. It was an okay flight. Wilco products do tend to have a few more bugs than I like, and FPS took a hit on final approach. The landing lights lighted up the flight deck and not the runway, but hey, other than that, it was a decent flight.
  4. I do have the latest version and did experience the issue with the VC and displays not working. After a bit of troubleshooting I was able to get it working. I can share the solution as soon as I get home from work. I did a flight from KATL to KIAD. There were a few bugs, and I did run into a FPS issue on final, but overall I enjoyed the update. Before I got it to work I was in touch with a member of tech support. He achnowledfed that there is an issue with the current version and P3D 4.3. He was interested in my fix as well. I’ll be able to share in just a bit.
  5. I love the Maddog! The textures really do look great and it is a lot of fun to fly. I take a lot of short haul business trips out of KATL on Delta, so I fly in a lot of MD-88s and it amazing to see how close the Maddog matches the real thing.
  6. I did have my AA set to 4x MSAA by default, tried to set it at 8 with no change. This is an interesting problem, haven't really come across anything like it. KMIA is the only airport that does this. I have several addons, including LatinVFR KSAN and KBWI. Well, hopefully we can get it figured out. Thanks again for the input.
  7. Thanks for the input. Do you have suggested settings for AA or other graphics setting?. I tried each setting, and the problem didn't go away; FPS just kept getting worse. Do I change those settings from within P3d or use the Nvidia control panel? Thanks!
  8. While I'm waiting to get the ability to post in the LatinVFR forums, I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with this runway lighting issue at KMIA. I've played around with various settings buy have not figured out how to get the "spiky" lighting to go away.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  9. I've recently enjoyed flying some of the complex sims from PMDG, Captain Sim, FSLabs, etc. and I was curious if most of you buy the expansions for those craft or stick with just the base package. Do the expansions add enough to justify the extra money, or would you rather buy an extra airport? Thanks for the input!
  10. That is a beautiful shot, and I agree, I've recently enjoyed a lot of really nice scenes flying in P3d. Attached is a shot from a KSEA to KATL flight I took last night:
  11. Just a quick heads up: For the past couple of updates, including this release, the add-on manager update tool would not work. Every time I tried to run it, I would get an error saying another installation needed to be completed. I had to reboot, then uninstall add-on manager and then download and install the most recent add-on manager. Once I did that, then it took care of everything. I do love this plane!
  12. Quick update: Less than 24 hours after submitting a ticket, I got an email with my order number. This let me log in and download from their extended service. The purchase emails arrived in my spam folder around the same time. They say patience is a virtue, but these days, you get used to the instant download link!
  13. I picked that up a day or two after the whole story broke about their use of DRM in the installer. Really a great add on, just updated to the latest release. In all honesty, I don't need to get another add on, I've got several that I've not really explored. But boy, I love loading up a new purchase, digging into the tutorial, and flying to an airport I haven't been to yet!
  14. Well darn it! I talked myself into the 757, purchased it on their website via PayPal, got the PayPal receipt, but no download links. Saw on their support forums that this has happened before. There's a link to submit a ticket, but you need an order number and that never came. Have to say this is the first time something like this has happened to me and I've purchased a bunch of add ons! Oh well, we'll see what happens over the next 24 hours...
  15. Thanks all for the advice! Just flew back from KORD to KATL on Friday on a Delta MD88. Lingered a bit to have a look at the flight deck and have to say the maddog looks like a pretty good representation. Think I’ll start with that!
  16. I’m feeling like I’d like to grab a new plane for the 4th of July. I was thinking eithe the Maddog or Captain Sim 757. Any thoughts? thanks!
  17. I finally updated to 4.2 using the uninstall/install individual compoment method and so far no problems. The CRJ 4.2 only update was the major motivation for the change. So far, no problems.
  18. Vic, Could you clarify your comment about the GTN750? I noticed that Navigraph was not updating my GTN. I did some research and learned that the data is static and is determined by the version of data in the underlying Garmin training simulator. Is there a way to get Navigraph data into the GTN750? Thanks! Mike
  19. Great shots. The Maddog is my next purchase!
  20. I've been doing my research on various ATC add-ons and I was curious how many of you actually fly with ATC. I've been having a lot of fun just learning the ins and outs of PFPX, uploading flight plans into my new jets, loading flight plans directly into the FMS, etc. Then I noticed in Froogle's latest "fully loaded" he wasn't using an ATC (I think his old standby was/is RC). The thought occurred to me that I might not even need an ATC add-on but wanted to get some feedback on if you feel that it significantly enhances the overall sim experience. Thanks for your thoughts!
  21. Thought I would post one other quick note. Flew a short hop from KECP, a payware add on last updated for P3d v3, up to most recent update of Imaginesim's KATL, and the CRJ flew the route perfectly. RRS GOLLM GNDLF2, ILS to RW 08R.
  22. I've had no issues with LNAV, VNAV, CTD. Aside from my lack of skills without an auto throttle, this model has been outstanding. On my first tutorial flight, I did see some of what you guys have been describing, but after I updated the planes database via Navigraph, it's been perfect. I do try to keep all of my navaids, mag dev, etc. up to date. I suppose if you haven't done the same, that could cause some of the problems you've been seeing.Being from Atlanta, it's great having a short hop Delta CRJ to fly around the south east!
  23. It's a rainy day down here in Georgia, so I thought I take a quick flight from my home airport over to Augusta. Used the Alabeo PA31 Chiefton 350 with Flight1s G500/600. Really nice avionics package. I'm hoping more developers will incorporate the set into their aircraft.
  24. Well, so much for photobucket. You can tell I haven't posted in a while! Let's see if this works...
