Just bought skymaxx and have to say I'm a bit disappointed in it :( doesn't really look an awful lot better than the original (though it is better), has loads of popping issues and whole swathes of clouds disappearing when you change view and just generally feels a bit patchy and 'freeware'. It seems to have massively glowing reviews everywhere though so maybe I'm doing something wrong, my expectations are too high coming from things like active sky next and rex (but those things aren't much more, or any different in terms of price) Another thing I bought was the carenado pa46 which is fabulous

10.30 within 24 hours

I think if they'd done anything to the ATC that would be front and centre of any news item, since it's what people have been desperate for since 500 bc -
Supersampling wont work with prepar3d ati r9 280x
Superdelphinus replied to AimHawk's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I'd go with the drivers being the culprit to be honest. Every time they release a new one it either completely breaks or fixes x-plane hdr mode as well (currently in a 'fixed'cycle)! I suppose one thing to try would be to see if the fsx game profile still works, if you have it -

14.4 that's the one! Either that or v2.2 broke it for me. I only really notice it on the a2a c172 gauges though -

Which version? I found it worked fine (with a 7950) in version 2.1 when set in ccc but it doesn't seem to override it in v2.2. I also updated the driver to 14.3 at roughly the same time so I'm not sure which did it -
I've not never got near using up 3gb, x plane is the only sim I can get to do that

New sim platform announced, Have you heard of this before?
Superdelphinus replied to Tino's topic in PMDG General Forum
Yep. My point is that 30,000 people is a drop in the ocean of the modern video game market. It's a lot of people, but not a lot of customers -

Because if a new call of auto theft duty game website got leaked they'd have millions of hits within an hour and then it would crash -
Amen to that, and you'd be mad not to (cash funds notwithstanding). All of them have their pros and cons, though I don't have fs9 Arguably i could agree that you might choose between fsx and p3d (certainly over the next 12 months or so), but I definitely think it's worth having x plane as well. It's a completely different wonderful sim, and is also a very clean installation

A pun on 'steam' there perhaps? -

Forget about p3d and go all in on xp10 -
I did it this way round (the 737 first), but I actually wonder whether the 777 is a better one to start with...because of the extra automation. I think this is particularly relevant with the start up procedures. However, both are phenomenal pieces of software so you can't go wrong with either (well I did when my ngx's autopilot failed, but you get the point!)

Introducing World2XPlane...
Superdelphinus replied to tonywob's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
Only just found out about this project today, it's insane! It's like everything orbx ever did rolled into one... Let me know if you still need pics of things - I live in the UK and have tesco, sainsburys, waitrose etc all round here. -
I have only ever used ezdok with win8, and it's fine as far as ezdok can ever be fine

In my opinion gex+ utx is better (utx is much better than vector at the moment I think) but I switched to ftx global + vector because it covers the whole world and is p3d2 compatible (roughly). I think ftx global is slightly better than gex for what it's worth.

PMDG 777/A2A C172/Majestic Q400 ?
Superdelphinus replied to Sebastiaan's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I have all three and it's difficult to rank them. I've used the c172 the most so I'd probably say that. The 777 is technically phenomenal though, but (whisper it) I find a bit boring after a while. The q400 I've not really used very much at all, but plan to over the next few months. Re fs2crew, does no one else think it takes quite a lot of fun out of it? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great product in terms of immersion (I have the ngx version) but after a while using it i realised it's really just automating a lot of things I liked doing and reduces my flight activity to barely anything. I don't use it on the ngx anymore just so I have more things to do. It would be good if you could have an option to be the FO on a flight rather than the captain -
Goodbye FSX........Hello X Plane
Superdelphinus replied to tull's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
I've had regular "that's it, I'm now 100% using xplane" moments throughout the last year or so. It lasts a bit and then I gradually use fsx more again - for me it's mainly the ATC that pushes me back again. Xplane could well be the long term future (at some point a 64 bit app is going to have to be), but at the moment it's too much of a bare bones tech demo. I've gone through a similar phase with p3d2 recently too! As others have said though, just leave them all on the computer because they all have strong points. -
It's like allo allo on here

Just a note before all the ruckus starts HERE regarding Vector
Superdelphinus replied to Kattz's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
does anyone know how ftx vector without mesh compares to UTX without mesh? In terms of weirdness... I'm another who didn't realise you needed a mesh product to make vector not make the world go mental before I bought it, if that is indeed what happens.
