WU 17 Today (Now live already)
Here's my cliffs: Cliffs look like this with the World Update installed, and uninstalled as well. Reinstall did nothing to solve it. Nothing in the community folder, all blank. Internet speed is 350 up and down. London looks great with photogrammetry but I have no clue how to fix this. I'm so stupid, I was missing so many updates from the Marketplace lol. God.

The best add-on traffic for VPilot/Vatsim/P3D v3
I've mentioned it earlier in the post, I just can't use MT6 anymore. The models just ruin the experience for me so it's time to find a new option.

The best add-on traffic for VPilot/Vatsim/P3D v3
I use My Traffic 6, I'm not a huge fan of the models I find them too low quality to be honest. Be sure to read this thread, huge FPS jumps http://www.avsim.com/topic/451048-traffic-optimizer-for-p3d/

Rex products
Thanks for your reply. Rex Essential PLUS with OverDrive also just has textures. Confused which one to buy. Both Overdrive and Rex Texture Direct both have textures, I see that Overdrive has a weather engine which I don't need since I already have OPUS. Anyways I have some reading to do, thanks for the link to the sale N1G, appreciate it

Rex products
Only Rex thing I own is the soft clouds. I don't own any of the texture direct software as I'm using the sky and sun mods that are listed here: http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=Gabriel+Joaquim+Teles+Rodrigues&CatID=root&Go=Search I would like to change some of my runway textures, maybe Texture Direct may help with this and not overwrite my current sun and sky mods. Can I just use the runway textures and nothing else?

How effective are Trackirs ?
Like everyone says, TrackIR is a must buy. I have Trackir5 with the proclip using an eyefinity setup with three 24inch monitors. I absolutely love it and could not even dream of using fsx without it.

Cloud Density Settings and Weather Settings
Just a quick couple of questions. First question, I have cloud density set to Maximum, I believe this is incorrect as per reading a few threads. I will turn this off to none, as it's my understanding that will stop FSX from injecting weather into the system when I want OPUSfsi doing it. I will try this tonight when I get home. So previously I was running it set to maximum, and have OPUS run the weather system. With this set to none, and opus running the weather system will that help with frames at all? I assume once I setup a client/server setup and have weather and cams update from a client, this will help me even more. My other question is this, I've setup in the xml file to launch OPUSfsi when fsx steam edition starts. No problems there, but what I find I've been doing from day 1 after purchasing OPUS are the following steps. - I launch the game - Click on Weather - Click on OPUS Weather I find I have to do this on every boot up of the game. Is this setup even needed? Can it just be left on the default "user defined" weather or do I have to keep selecting OPUS weather. Loving this software btw.

purchase extra copy of FSX steam edition for client pc?
Thank you for the reply, I went ahead and purchased a second copy of fsx for a new steam ID. I must say I'm very happy upgrading to OPUS fsi. The weather looks fantastic and I spent quite a bit of time playing with the camera setup on the weekend. Pretty powerful stuff. I still have lots of setting up to do but I'm enjoying it. I look forward to the client/server setup and see what I can offload onto the client. Thanks

purchase extra copy of FSX steam edition for client pc?
In order to have a client pc running some windowed cameras, do I need to purchase another copy of steam fsx? I assume I cant run two copies of it at the same time on two different computers with the same steam account can I? Main pc has fsx steam installed already, I dont mind buying another copy and creating a new steam username and buying it. Id just like to know in the next 9hrs before it goes back to full price on steam. Thank you.

Opusfsi is outstanding...
I purchased the upgrade last night, installed it and uninstalled OpusFSX after. Will go through the setup guidelines tonight, there is a lot of reading to do but I'm excited to do it.

Opusfsi is outstanding...
Stephen, I'm going to trust you, I'm pulling the trigger now

Opusfsi is outstanding...
I purchased OpusFSX last year, then I see there is an OpusFSI now. Is there any videos I can look at to see the differences? Videos explaining all the changes? I can read all the text I want about it, but half of it I don't understand as I'm not really a hardcore flight sim guy (yet)

9th March 2015, Steam Edition update goes into open beta
Well its installed. I have it installed to my D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX (Samsung Evo 250gb SSD) but my fsx.cfg file is in my c:\Users\Franjo\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX directory. While my scenary.cfg is in my game install directory D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX. Is this all ok? Capt Spiers, I won't lie I'm pretty pumped up.

9th March 2015, Steam Edition update goes into open beta
Mike thanks so much for the info. The truth is I have zero clue how to fly jets. Im a long way from that. I own opusfsx and a2a172 cesna. Would it be a good idea to install those anyway just to be safe? I think im not going to install the beta yet and stick to the normal version as the beta ends soon Everybody is so helpful here what a great community.

Beer, Thanks for the heads up, this is a clean install PC now as I upgraded to SSD's for both Windows and FSX drive. So I shouldn't have this problem I assume. I will still check, thank you!

9th March 2015, Steam Edition update goes into open beta
Wanted to say thanks, I've decided I'm going to purchase FSX-SE today after reading this thread and hearing some good things. I was contemplating installing my boxed FSX gold or SE, and you guys helped me made that decision. So begins the long installation process and hardware setup, but to be honest I enjoy it and I'm sure i'll run into a few quirks. I'm currently rocking crossfired 6950's (I know crossfire has no advantage in FSX). I'll wait until I'm running a gtx780 until I try directx10. I'm pretty confident from doing all reading on FSX-SE, its the way to go.

After all these years, finally picked up a Saitek Trim wheel
franjoflyer replied to a post in a topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcThanks so much for the info. I'm interested in trying it as I only fly the cesna right now as I get used the game. Plus it would save me a couple more buttons on the yoke to assign to something else.

Fsx 8.1 Fullscreen
I'm running fsx Win 8.1 with no issues, Eyefinity across 3 screens on xfx 6950's (although I disable crossfire when running fsx.exe). I wonder what the difference could be. Is this a fresh install of it? Were the steps to installing it done correctly? What video card are you using, what resolution are you trying to run?

How reliable is the Saitek Yoke mod?
I would very much like to know everything you mentioned. I just recently purchased it, I love it. There are some not so smooth movements of it sometimes so I'm curious as to how much better it makes it. In real life, is the yoke supposed to spring back to neutral?

After all these years, finally picked up a Saitek Trim wheel
franjoflyer replied to a post in a topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcI'm just getting into flight sims, loving it so far. I went with the saitek non cesna yoke, I have a few switch buttons on it. I use the top left buttons for trim up and trim down but I find I have to adjust it quite a bit throughout a flight.....I think I'd almost be too lazy to keep taking my hand away and using a wheel to trim. On the other hand, I am a total newb and maybe I'm doing something wrong having to use trim so much. I find i rather just use the yoke and correct it to the position I want, then hold it. Trimming it sometimes. Once I get out of total newb status, I will consider one of these, its only 50 bucks anyways. Your setup looks wicked, some cable management yes but cool gear.
