  1. Did you try extending them from within the virtual cockpit? if that works then there is a button problem, sometimes when you do an FSX repair or something else the shortcuts to your Joystick get deleted making that some buttons don't work anymore and maybe the "G" did get another function by some add on you recently installed, check FSX controls buttons assignments. Herman
  2. Go to the official ORBX forum for instructions on uninstall, it's not easy cause it plants files in all of your FSX install. The default terrain.cfg does come with these bugs and some more that is why I say to change the render priorities ( higher values get rendered first, default landclass has a priority of 30000 so if your airport is only 20000 it will not show no matter where in the scenery library it is ), every time you open ( and only opening it is enough ) the FTX Central it will be over written with a default bad terrain.cfg and cause trouble again, took me hours to find this out, now have everything in a good working order and I put the FTX Central icon on a place where I can not accidently open it any more and I probably will never open it anymore, don't care for FTX updates anymore anyway, the more updates they bring out the more trouble to FSX they bring, they are only after one thing; making sure that your sim only will run fine after you bought all off their stuff and deleted all other stuff. Herman
  3. This means you ran out off available memory, check your virtual RAM and set that higher to at least somewhere around 3072Mb and set some sliders lower like the autogen and especially water detail to low 2x or max mid 2x, not high. Herman
  4. Read this, it will solve your problem Herman
  5. Had this before to, had to wait for a new version, best to go the the official ORBX forum with that. Herman
  6. If you fly around in the middle states or around Denver Colorado and see crop fields with big circles then that is ORBX Global base textures and you don't have to worry. Herman
  7. Maybe a reinstall with the stand alone installer from FS dreamteam can help there as far as GSX is concerned cause my traffic probably comes with afcads and disabling that makes that GSX doesn't see any airport any more.,Some airports don't have buildings but KLGA certainly has. If not then somebody ells in the FSX-SE forum might help with that, I've never had that problem yet ( had many problems in the past and that is why I learned so much from how FSX is set up ) so I'm not in a position to help you there, the only thing I know about that is that they normally are in the airports AFCAD and they are effected by the scenery complexity slider, I have that one always at maximum. glad to here the rest works, Herman
  8. You say that you have uninstalled and reinstalled but what? FSX? or ORBX global base? before uninstalling FSX, did you uninstall global base like it is supposed to? Herman
  9. textures 165,264 and 266 change landclassremaptype into none . Default airports are in the numberd files in the scenery folder and can't be seen without a program like ADE. Are you sure you don't have Vector? see you have entries for PNW region to. Did you try to uncheck the runways thing and my traffic in the scenery librarie in FSX and see what the result is? you can also try this for the ORBX entries to see if they are the problem but I doubt it. Trees and buildings all over airports and no green background is usually something that blocks the default backgrounds like an exclusion or an other afcad or background and they only come with FTX Vector and sometimes AI traffic programs, did you install some mesh program for FSX? try all this and let me know, Herman
  10. Like I said, if you open the central then the terrain.cfg gets back overwritten, correct all the airport background entries in the cfg ( it are about 27 entries but the ones marked "obsolete" don't have to be changed ) and then open fsx to see if it is good ( without opening the FRX central ), if that doesn't help then uncheck area 113, don't know what that is or where that comes from. Uncheck my traffic if that doesn't help, I don't know if that comes with afcads like just flight. The problem doesn't come from ORBX base or landclass, if you would have FTX Vector that messes up a lot of airports so have to look at these add ons Herman
  11. FTX Global and open landclass are only texture replacements for the default ones , UTX is a vector software meaning it creates the roads, railrodes, cities, harbors and waterlines so they normally should always work well together, it becomes another story with FTX Vector and the full fat ORBX regions. Herman
  12. PS uncheck detect crashes in the FSX aircraft settings, it causes more trouble then it's worth. Herman
  13. Looks like you don't have the area 127 anymore, if so open scenery library and uncheck it, click ok to let the scenery library rebuild itself, then open the library again and delete the 127 area. FTX Global base doesn't do anything to airports or airport backgrounds, it are just textures for landclass no more then that however if you open the FTX central then that rewrites your terrain.cfg with a faulty version; open the terrain.cfg in your main FSX folder with notepad or wordpad and do a search for "airport background", you will find many entries now if the header of the airport background has " maskclassmap" inside the change the landclassremaptype from "none" into airport and for every renderpriority change it from 20.000 to 200.000 ( this is what causes the trees and buildings on airports ) save and keep a copie outside FSX for the next time you open the FTX central again. Herman
  14. You can check the airport.bgl with ADE ( it's free ) to see if the PAPI lights are in the afcad or not. Herman
  15. Got this from another site, you will never get more frames then the refresh rate of your monitor no matter what your fps counter tells you so with a 60hz refresh rate you will maximum see 60 frames a second, I don't know where you saw these guys with over 200 frames, couldn't find any on you tube, so must have been screenshots taken at an instant off a second and that was probably the only instant it topped 200+ so not exactly reliable to use as a reference. I have an i5 4690K on a Gigabyte Z87 MoBo OC'ed at 4.2Ghz, a GTX 760 card with 2Gb video memory and 2X4Gb of 2133Mhz CL9 RAM and 850Watt PSU ( this is how you give your specs ) an at Friday Harbor ( but I have the PNW full fat region from ORBX there ) I get with all sliders in the middle ( don't know the settings from default vanilla, to long ago ) in unlimited a count between 15 and 140 but it's real jerky and full of stutters, barely can call that playable. My monitor has a 60hz refresh rate and I have VSync in NVidia inspector on 1/2 refresh rate hence my frames are limited at 30 and that stays on 30 and gives a smooth experience, what else you want more? I don't care about somebody else his frames, even if they would get 500+, if it runs smooth then enjoy it and don't get frustrated because somebody else has something more cause then you only act as a spoiled brad. Herman
  16. It always happens in full screen mode, windowed mode is difficult to apply since Vsync doesn't work anymore then. I have a 60hz refresh rate on my monitor and use 1/2 vsync in NVidia inspector and therefore limit frames to 30 in FSX, that would be all for nothing then? Herman
  17. Hardware wise you are at a medium system, far from the top, your RAM is very low speed and that blocks rendering to, your GTX970 isn't top either and as far as CPU speed goes, there are people running over 5Ghz, every overclock of about 0.2 Ghz is going to give you in unlimited about 20 to 40 frames more if you have the good hardware. Change your RAM for at least 2133Mhz CL8 or higher and you will see a difference you didn't expect.
  18. I doubt if many people here have the Friday harbor flight still as default flight so difficult to answer but why don't you explain what you are trying to get to with this question, if it is for comparison reasons then you can only compare to people with about the same specs, nobody else, and then just have set up FSX for the first time. Much luck in finding them and then still, do you gain anything from that knowing others come to the same frames?
  19. I have this problem to but after enough clicks on the taskbar's FSX icon as on the screen it reopens again. I use opusFSI for the weather and the latest version4 opens a little window sometimes causing FSX to minimize, I have W7 and didn't find a solution nowhere yet, it has to do with the focus being drawn away from a window to another and it looks like W7 can't multitask. I asked the dev from Opus to change the window back to in game to get rid of the problem, he promised me an update this week. Herman
  20. I still don't understand what this guy wants to know, to me the question sounds like" Why is my Toyota middle class car not going as fast as my neighbor's Ferrari 458?" with his specs ( medium end ) it seems completely normal and as for ORBX stuff; global base doesn't hit on your frames, open landclass neither, full fat regions hit enormous and especially Vector can hit in some places really bad. You want higher frames? start overclocking to 4.4 or 4.5Ghz and replace your slow RAM with some speedy RAM 2400MHz with the very important CL 10 or even better CL 9 if you still can find it and if that is not enough then try to find a GTX980TI or GTX1080 and you're sitting on roses. Please moderators, close this useless discussion.
  21. Did you set enough Null zone on your joystick? Herman
  22. no it would use 3 instead of 4 cores and at 1.8Ghz you need all the power you can get. If you have malware on your system it will creep in every install again, good working methods are the best way to a secure and good install; first check for malware and viruses, then do a system clean and a good registry clean and then download and install software if you are 99% sure your system is okay.
  23. no affinity mask here, it will make things worse for you. The textures come from your graphics card that can't keep up or a corrupted texture folder that's why you have to check first for malware, if it finds something it might be a good idea to download and install FSX SE from frech again.
  24. forgot your low end system, frame rates should be unlimited for low end systems and the texture max load could go back to 512 mb and wideview back to false ( noticed you only have a normal screen and not a wide screen ) all the rest can't cause bad performance, only better.but please check with malware bytes it's a free 30 day full working trial. I had long loading times ( up to 10 minutes ) for a while to and it seemed I had a malware on my system that caused all this ( also the bad performance )
  25. Is your anti virus software off? and check for viruses and malware, always when downloading stuff for FSX ( also add ons from all developers ) switch UAC and antivirus ( also the useless windows defender ) off cause it might block stuff from downloading asswell as from loading hence the long loading times and bad performance
