F1GTN been working perfect here for years 🙂 You say RXP is better, but don't explain in what way. Do you mean functionally better, or just that it works properly on your system unlike F1 in your experience?

It seems to be an architectural limitation of FSX/P3D. Thankfully, FS2020 will have fully volumetric clouds.

Recently I started finding that when I tried to start REF it didn't load the programme. The I discovered that even when it is not running I have this entry in my TaskMan for REX Environment Force. If I kill that entry in TaskMan, then REF will load properly next time. But when my session is done and I close REF, I am again left with the REF entry still in TaskMan although there is no sign of REF actually running. So next time I try to start it, it fails again and have to kill it in TaskMan yet again before it will load properly. Anyone else seen this? The fault has survived the latest update to REF 2.2.1 today. I tried to contact REX support, but their horrendous support experience proved too difficult to navigate, asking me account questions I simply didn't have an answer to. What a load of word not allowed that is. Great products. User hostile support.

Yes I just needed to contact REX support, and have given up. The entire experience is unnecessarily complex and user hostile. Almost like they don't want you to contact them... Some companies never learn.

FS2020 definitely visually looks great. But until it arrives we won't know if it is really that good - could be a bug fest. For me if a sim crashes once every few hours, that would put me off entirely. Hoping for great things. But that's all it is for now. Hope. I continue to enjoy P3D 4.5 and find it a great sim, but I also enjoy all the FS2020 eye candy we are allowed to see at this point.

FFTF is definitely worth having and only costs about £15. I fly Photoreal Scenery all over Europe and the West USA states, and sometimes in very fast military jets. I have FFTF set as follows: AGL Range Feet = 0 to 4000 FFTF Range = 0.15 to 0.33 I never get the blurries or missing textures, or texture popping, not at any speed or altitude. Once last week I forgot to load FFTF and immediately had blurries all over the place. Oh and everything here is on multiple SSD drives. No spinners in the system. This definitely helps.

Yes I have just downloaded the BlueSky scenery over the last week, and have found some LARGE holes in photo real data in California and Nevada/Utah.

I've been busy downloading lots of the Italy Photoreal scenery and lovely it is too. I have a few questions about some of the extra bits on the download page, and how to install them, namely: EuropePhotoreal_CVX ItalyPhotoreal_CVX These are both shoreline corrections, but there is not information as to where to put them. I have managed to install all the freeware photoreal scenery, but can't see where these go. Any ideas? Cheers

I've been downloading lots of photoreal scenery from https://italyphotoreal.weebly.com/download.html Does anyone know if this contains updated mesh, or is it just the photo textures? If so, is there a better free mesh than the standard P3D mesh I could use for Europe to improve the 3D accuracy of the area? Cheers.

Did I miss something. When I try to download this scenery, I am faced with a map of Europe with literally HUNDREDS of individual download links which all have to be processed independently and manually to build up and area of scenery, and each download only handles a tiny patch of Europe. I appreciate this is free, but it seems impossibly time consuming to gather a reasonable area of Europe with this method. Is there an easier way? Just wondering if that is how it is, or whether I have missed something?

Thinking back quite a way, but isn't the cores issue historic? I thought that was sorted a while ago. I certainly have not manipulated cores for F1-GTN for a long time now and don't have any problems with the product.

Ok. Sorry Bob. But no need for pills here. I'm fine and the system is fixed. My general point stands about others making suggestions which are not properly researched, especially stuff which could affect the entire system, not just the sim. You always have to assume the other party might not have a clue when giving out advice. I had a simple CTD, and the reply I got involved me going in to the system BIOS and unclocking the machine etc! 😨 On a machine which has run rock solid for 2 years.
