Hello folks, I am seeking information in relation to running certain apps on network computer for P3D V3.3.5 The questions are - 1. Which all add-ons can be run on client and which ones are to be run mandatory on server (except P3D!) ? 2. Can 32 Bit XP machine be used as client with 64 bit server (provided all set-up is correctly) ? 3. Is there any generic guide for such set-up avsim or somewhere ? (I am aware of frooglesim video and that every application might have specifics but I am looking for generic prerequisites in terms of pdf or a doc or a thread.) 4. How much high level performance increase be expected on server ? (Especially when we have affinity mask and segregation of cores per add-on) ? (In other words, is it worth the efforts !) Hello Guys, I have gone through this thread after finding myself in more or less same situation. While there is no doubt, about PMDG being the best option out there, other uncertainties are popping up inside my mind. Sooner or later, we are going to witness the end of life for 32 bit versions (we might be even already going through it) of our sims, will it be wise to buy PMDG 777 (200+300) at this very moment ? Really in dilemma. Request folks for your personal opinions/views. I however remember but not sure about reading somewhere that PMDG would rather give a free upgrade should P3D go 64 bit. I am on 3.3.5 now and confirm the issue still exist. I have reduced layers from 5 to 3. No luck. Frame rate drop is 50% For me those drop from 30 to 11-12. Though I see slight visual improvement (in wing views) on clouds especially when plane is passing through. Regards Prayog

Again little skeptical. What happens when 64 bit versions are out ? (We would definitely be looking out these integrations, no matter what) Will it be another dead investment ? (It is becoming increasing difficult to make decisions!) Regards Prayog

I personally support LM's decision in the long run, though I know that I will not only lose returns of my spent money but also may need to re-spend. What probably unintentionally went missing was some disclaimer that "With this update, the legacy SDK and relevant scenery will not be supported. Developers were given enough lead time (since V2.4) to adapt therefore, do update 3.3 at your risk with this known fact." Most of the things are now clear. LM is kind enough to release a hotfix on 3.3. And importantly simmers as well as developers now know that 3.4 onwards they might need to make a choice. Regards Prayog

True that Bob, but Flightsim is the world of patience. So better to wait to have something future proof rather than short lived. I feel the evolution will not take as much as it took from FSX to P3D and thereafter. Also that competition (if DTG lives up challenge!), will eventually benefit all of us simmers. Overall, got a feeling that there is no point in investing anymore in 32 bit sims esp. when we have DTGFS on the horizon and P3D most probably getting onto the radar for next year or so. Regards Prayog
