  1. Yeah, the aircraft physics and ground handling changes they announced for SU15 are awesome. They could have kept them entirely for FS 2024 but they decided to update MSFS with what was possible to port into it instead...
  2. The fact that MSFS can run at low settings with 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 770 does not contradict what I - and Jorg Neumann! - are saying in any way. I am talking about the upper limit of what MSFS can deliver, not the lower limit.
  3. They had several reports of crashes for the A310 on XBox too, as you can read from the transcript of the last interview and posts on the official forum.
  4. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/november-dev-stream-2023-transcription/619372 Jorg said something: I can answer the question about the scrutiny of Xbox performances. Obviously, we have statistics every time we publish a new build, whether it’s on flighting or for updates like SU13. We know that we are still facing more scrutiny on Xbox, especially regarding the A320. We recently had some issues on Xbox, most of which should have been fixed. Jorg, you can speak about the A320 later on. Yeah, I mean, first off, any participation helps. We get more data when users participate, and that information goes to the dev team. It helps us identify areas where we are struggling, especially with more sophisticated and memory-intensive elements like airliners. There seems to be an issue with some third-party add-ons using very large textures for liveries, causing problems on a memory-constrained platform like Xbox. We are investigating this, and it manifested itself with both the Airbus A310 and later with the Airbus A320. We’re looking into it for sure, and the feedback was helpful. Thank you. Jorg is smart here and mentions liveries to minimize the perception of the issue. A livery is something that can be resized easily without a big graphics impact (although they removed the aircraft from the sim instead 🙂). But the reality is that whatever element involves complex aircraft systems, textures, large amounts of assets (to deliver a better scenery and weather for example), has to fight with memory and elaboration capacity constraints. In my opinion a true next gen sim will come out in 2028, after the release of the new XBox. 4 years after FS 2024 which will come out 4 years after MSFS. P.S.: PCs with 16 GB of RAM have separate VRAM, unlike the XBox.
  5. And why does something crash on XBox but not on PC? Memory 🙂 The Series S, on which FS 2024 will run, has 16 GB of shared memory, and the situation won't change until the new XBox is released, 4 years after FS 2024.
  6. This is bad news. It means that any complex aircraft, scenery element or feature of the sim is actually held back by the limitations of the XBox platform. Exactly what has been denied for years by many on the forum. Imagine this translated on FS 2024 in 2028, when PC users will have Ryzen 12800X3D and GeForce 8090 capable of smooth path tracing at native 4K and godonlyknows which other marvels, the new XBox is not released yet, and the new sim continues to be developed within the constraints of the XBox Series S limitations.
  7. Live weather and global lighting look so good in this build... 😍 https://postimg.cc/gallery/GbfYtHc
  8. I checked and the kitchen sink isn't there either. I want my money back 😛
  9. The doors do not open. Just tried KLAX - 25R was assigned, selected 7L and departed from 7L. Try to empty the community folder...
  10. Let me know the specific airport and runway and I will check it, maybe the issue is only there.
  11. In this case they could have left it in beta .19 and removed it in the final SU14 release if it wasn't ready yet. They could still benefit of an additional week of beta testing and feedback. The coincidence with the Reddit drama is suspect. It's a shame, hopefully it will come back soon.
  12. Nope, I just tried and it lets you change the assigned runway and depart from there. By chance, did you change aircraft before starting the flight?
  13. No reason to remove it from the PC version as well. For months then?! IMHO this has more to do with a certain Reddit drama. Also:
  14. Yeah, yeah, we believe you... For OP: In addition to what others reported, the snow coverage has been improved significantly for taxiways, runways and terrain.
  15. Any DLSS setting including DLAA does that, along with an annoying ripple effect on water. In my opinion DLSS is badly implemented in MSFS, in almost all the other games DLSS DLAA and DLSS Quality improve the perceived graphics quality instead. The good news is that with the 3080 Ti you don't need DLSS unless you push it to 4K and aim to 60 fps.
  16. If you pause you can see the new features showcased in the video easily. However, more instructive is the keynote presentation in which they explain the new terrain processing in FS2024 (after 15'40"). This is where MSFS has some weak points, especially wherever there are mountains or cliffs: low-res and flat vegetation orthophoto, flat rock texture surfaces, other unrecognizable textures extremely stretched upon vertical surfaces, etc. If they manage to get the AI to replace all these artifacts with custom 3D elements on a global base, this will be the most important graphics quality uplift for VFR.
  17. If you refer to the texture leak at airports in external view with DX12 and the Bing tile swapping bug, none of these issues has been fixed in SU14 so far.
  18. I follow this guy since long time and I find his tutorials very useful. He is (or used to be) part of the technical advisors team at PMDG, of course he's biased towards the PMDG 737. He publishes regularly lots of free content and his real name can be found very easily. Maybe he tells 99 things right and one thing wrong, IMHO not a good reason to talk behind his back like this.
  19. No sorry, don't mix things up please. This youtuber has a 3080 Ti (without FG) and clearly says that the framerate increase from about 30 to 40-42 fps is obtained both with DLSS/DLAA and TAA, with the PMDG 737 in Miami airport where he departs from several times a week (so he knows very well the performance of his PC there). No frame generation is involved with the 3080 Ti (only 4000 series cards have it), and he also explicitly shows and declares that the library he overwrites is nvngx_dlss.dll, the one without FG support. Maybe he had some underlying issues that were resolved with a Windows update, maybe the traffic at KMIA was lighter the day he tested the DLL change. I am not saying he's in bad faith and just wanted to reap likes and views with a hyperbolic title like "+30% FPS". I am not judging him here, just discerning between feelings and facts that can be verified and reproduced.
  20. Ghosting is a thing but if you use TAA, that DLL is completely neglected. The author of the video says otherwise and that is the first red flag. Also, he doesn't show the "before", only the "after". Moreover he shows a CPU limited scenario (737 @ KMIA) as evidenced by his frame counter (limited by mainthread). How would the DLSS DLL make any difference in such a scenario? In DLSS or TAA? Have you recorded before and after in the same conditions or just have an "impression"? If the effect is true, it must be reproducible.
  21. Just had free time and wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. Nothing changed here with a 3090. How was it supposed to work anyway, even using TAA? Placebo effect is real though, look at how many people thanked the author of the video on Youtube.
  22. They say they may have identified the issue that causes stuttering before landing and probably it will be fixed in the next release. Also, a guy on Youtube moved the aircraft folder from Official to the community folder and switched back to SU13 and claims to have no stutters after that. So the issue is connected also with SU14 beta. Let's not forget that this is a FIRST release of an aircraft, part of a BETA update.
