Help with new PC Build
LORD_ replied to juaness's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHonestly, AMD beats NVIDIA in FPS numbers. you got like 120+ FPS for most time, but the overall image quality looks almost cartoonish in comparison. In the end, your monitor is only as good as your GPU. ur money and ur GPU 😄

Help with new PC Build
LORD_ replied to juaness's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThe 5090 is king, followed by the 5080 and 4090. A used 4090 is a golden deal because native frames always look better and cleaner than AI-generated ones. While the 5080 uses Frame Gen to keep up for image quality. The 5070 Ti might show high FPS, and very good on all games except in MSFS, the AI often causes image artifacts and looks unnatural.

WASM, what does it mean?
Hey Jack, This actually happened to me too. It turned out to be outdated or incompatible WASM files (probably from airports or aircraft that haven’t been updated to match the current sim or aircraft version). What I did: Important: don’t delete the WASM folder itself — only delete everything inside it Deleted the Rolling Cache as well Restarted the sim After that, the issue was completely gone and I kept a backup just in case, but once I confirmed everything was working fine, I deleted it permanently.

Need some advice fiddling with REX Atmos setting please.
The AB Presets are great, but the haze can definitely be a bit strong depending on your monitor and lighting settings. You can check this link, it has many different options to choose from: https://flightsim.to/utilities/tweaks?q=rex Visuals are all about personal taste, so you can pick what suits you best!

Opinions and experience
I’d recommend at least an RTX 4090 for a 3-monitor setup. It handles ultra settings and complex scenery much better. If budget allows, the RTX 5090 is the most future-proof option. For two displays, the RTX 5080 should perform very well. The RTX 50-series also introduces NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, with faster ray tracing, GDDR7 memory, and DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation to boost FPS in demanding sims. If you're upgrading from a (4070 Ti Super) or lower, going to a 5080 or 5090 makes sense. But if you already have a 4080 / 4080 Super / 4090, it's probably better to keep it for now since the performance gain is around ~10% and may not justify the extra cost.

MSFS Auto FPS App
I hope you can make a video explaining three performance levels for PCs: low-end, mid-range, and high-end. I’ve asked about this before, and it would really help if you could also explain what the numbers/settings mean. I know you’re busy and that you like to do your work with quality and precision, and we truly appreciate that. Thank you again.

Fenix
Hey Jack, Great choice! The Fenix Airbuses are absolutely fantastic 👍 We’ve got a small friendly group where we fly together, share tips, practice procedures, and explore most commercial aircraft. If you’re interested, feel free to join us anytime. Discord: panther2655 And of course, anyone else who wants to jump in is more than welcome too.

BATC AI Traffic Density
I recommend starting with the default settings to ensure everything is properly configured. You can follow the instructions in this guide: FS Live Traffic User Guide Downscaling can make the simulator smoother and improve FPS: YouTube Guide In BATC AI settings, it’s best to set all sliders to 5. In the simulator settings, set Parked Aircraft and Traffic to OFF. In Career mode, set Air Traffic to OFF. Optional tip: You can fly with a friend as long as you’re on the same server (e.g., West Europe). Choose the server with the lowest ping for the smoothest experience. Good luck!

Landing Airbus Aircraft
I did some research on how real pilots land and watched simulator videos, and I figured out the best techniques: Weight: Use FMC data for the accurate aircraft weight to calculate the best VAPP. Altimeter: Set according to current weather (hPa or inHg). Wind: Observe wind speed and direction. Landing Speed: Use VAPP from the FMC +5 KT, adjusted using: (GUST – WIND) ÷ 2 (minimum 5 KT, maximum 10 KT). Autopilot: Disconnect at 1,000 ft AGL for stable handling; if visibility is zero, remain on autopilot. Minima: Ensure you are at the target speed and on the correct glide slope. Flare: Wide-body aircraft (e.g., B777): flare at 30 ft AGL. Narrow-body aircraft (e.g., A320): flare at 20 ft AGL. Monitor the AGL readings to ensure the descent is appropriate for wheel touchdown. Reduce throttle to 0% over approximately 2 seconds. Wait for the nose wheels to touch down before deploying the reversers to avoid a hard impact on the nose gear.

MSFS2024 97% loading bug
I had the same issue with MSFS 2024 getting stuck at 89–97%. What fixed it for me was installing MSFS Map Enhancement 2024. After the sim loaded, I could remove it again (up to you) It also gives much better, continuously updated scenery. Inside the app, the map providers are: First Bing Maps 2nd Google Maps Also make sure to delete the Rolling Cache and sync your Windows system time before start the sim. *Make sure the ACFT or addons you use are compatible with MSFS2024. Good Luck

MSFS 2024 Multiplayer
RELEASE NOTES Sim Update 4 - Final - 1.6.32.0 Stability & Performance Add new Multiplayer replication models option (High Fidelity / Simplified) Aircraft Improved simulation of traffic and multiplayer aircraft wake turbulence. Multiplayer Fixed logo on player’s plane not being duplicated in multiplayer Fixed multiplayer plane movement when the pilot is in Photo Mode. Fixed Multiplayer nametags not visible over 5 Miles Fix visual and audio fx not properly replicated in multiplayer for hot air balloon. Fixed - Gray texture appears on LOD7 for spectating players when viewing at relatively close distance in a multiplayer instance Hi everyone, Is multiplayer supposed to work only with default MSFS aircraft? My friend and I tried flying together using the Fenix A320, but we cannot see each other’s aircraft at all. We tested multiple times, different servers, same livery, etc., but still no luck 😒 Are we missing something? Is there a setting we should change (e.g., the new High Fidelity / Simplified replication model) or is Fenix simply not supported for MP visibility? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Poor terrain res, reinstall, then stuck at 97% progress.
Hi, I had the same issue before — the sim gets stuck when the Google Map Replacement mod isn’t switched back correctly. Just download the tool from the link below and make sure you select Bing (latest version) inside the app before launching MSFS: https://flightsim.to/file/19345/msfs-2020-google-map-replacement That usually fixes the problem right away. 👍

Setting Max Frame Rate
It depends on your screen’s refresh rate and the number of frame generations you want. Without frame generation or DLSS, you’re getting pure graphics, which is hard to achieve unless you have a 4090 or 5090. In this case, set your Max FPS to match your screen’s refresh rate (for example, a 160 Hz screen → Max FPS ≈ 160). Frame generation can provide smoother and faster performance, but glitches may occur when running certain engines. This is normal because it requires double GPU processing. For setting up a maximum frame rate when using frame generation, for example: 160 Hz / 2× frame generation = 80 FPS 160 Hz / 3× frame generation = 50 FPS Do not set the max frame rate higher than this calculation, or you may experience dropped frames, especially during takeoff or landing. Set the AUTO FPS to a maximum of 50 FPS.

WSI /simbrief
Actually, if you're using SimBrief in combination with Navigraph Charts, you can view multiple weather layers—including turbulence—on the route map. Just enable the relevant weather overlays like "Turbulence", "Jet Streams", or "SIGMETs" from the side panel. It’s not as advanced as WSI, but it does provide a good general overview for planning.
