October 22, 2025Oct 22 I'm guessing that sound is cpu intensive, so turn down sampling rate perhaps.. Not sure, but maybe worth trying - I might even give it a go myself. Default is DVD quality, but you could try CD or radio quality to see if it makes any difference. Quick enough to do and turn back if it doesn't help. In Windows Sound settings, you can disable all enhancements and spatial effects, and set the output format to 16 or 24 bit @ 4800 Hz. One fix that can help resolve popping, crackling, and stuttering is, if you're NOT using HDMI for sound, to disable the NVIDIA/AMD HD audio driver in Device Manager. You can try all of this after you update your audio drivers and check for potential conflicts. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

If you aren't already on the SU 4 Beta, just wait for that to launch. There are a LOT of improvements that have largely removed stutters. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

October 23, 2025Oct 23 How hard is your gpu working? Is your gpu not working hard enough and sending too much data to the cpu and bottlenecking it? Try increasing the workload on your gpu and thus reduce the load on your cpu. 9950X3D, PNY 5090, 64GB DDR5 6000, MSI X870-P, GIGABYTE AORUS Gen5 2TB NVMe, 3440x1440 AW3423DW gsync ultimate.
October 23, 2025Oct 23 Are you using MSI Afterburner? It has been noted that it doesn't play nice with a 9800X3d . That is what I have, and I get a severe stutter fest even if I only use the FPS monitor and not any of the hardware control functions. I have a 4070 super and run triple monitors at 1440P. I have most settings at Ultra/High and get 35-40 FPS smooth as glass . I don't use any frame enhancement functions. I don't know if it affects 7800X3d, but it might be worth looking into. I would think you should get the same performance as I do with your setup.
