  1. Imaginesim's Austin Bergstrom Intl for Prepar3D v4 has been released. The scenery has had a full overhaul for the latest version of Lockheed Martin's simulator and the developer claims new optimatisations mean that performance will be "more than doubled" compared to the FSX version and increased "over 25%" over previous editions of P3D. Users will also benefit from switchable dynamic lighting, interactive SODE jetways and improved autogen coverage. The update is available free to existing KAUS FSX and P3D customers.
  2. Well, I went ahead and bought it, as a previous owner of the scenery I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a discount for existing customers- but I wasn't going to let it prevent me from seeing ATL in 2012 standards. Anyway, I plonked myself on the north side of the airfield at a GA position, I ended up in a heap of cargo pallets, alongside a cessna caravan which had suffered a similar fate, sitting in boxes. Now I removed the previous version from my scenery library, but have yet to fully uninstall, so perhaps there is a problem with the 2 AFCADs getting along, so I won't blame this problem on the new version just yet, still more testing to do regarding that. I began at dawn, took a quick look around and there were things I liked a lot, and disliked, the animated vehicles that scamper about the aprons hunting for aircraft were very well lit, the headlights were excellent; Then there was the abyssal darkness found here and there, for such a large airport I was expecting more light, what was lit, was lit well but I was hoping to see some more interesting night lighting effects, none to be found it seemed; The terminals themselves were only marginally better than their predecessors from 4 years ago, nothing wrong with them, but room for improvement; The airport background has clearly been updated in most areas, a very welcome site and one that I enjoyed very much, very well done and it certainly improves the overall appearance of the airport from the air; The new international terminal has been included, and I have honestly not seen any photos of this as it stands in the real world (just haven't been bothered to look tbh) - it looks pretty good in the scenery, the apron left room for improvement, seems quite bland and wanting of additional detail; The modelling is good, background imagery is quite poor, I found this quite surprising; As I mentioned earlier, the updated background imagery in most areas looks very good, I really wish they had done more with the taxiways, runways and aprons though, all of which have this bland appearance which could easily be rectified with just a few HD textures; My frames were not terrific, I typically see 45+ with FlyTampa, FSDT, LatinVFR, Tropicalsim etc. and here I was looking at around 20FPS. Could this be the reason? I appreciate cars as much as the next aircraft pilot, but you would be hard pressed to find this many in all of the FlyTampa sceneries combined. Carparks on final, highways, the traffic holding short of the runway, I wasn't surprised to see less frames, I was surprised to see 20 less frames though. Well, this just doesn't look quite right. If they followed the roads it would look excellent; I am left with mixed emotions with this, I believe it is undoubtedly an improvement over v1- but is it a 27USD improvement? This is only 1 dollar and 30 cents less than most FlyTampa sceneries, and the quality isn't comparable. FSDT sceneries are significantly more expensive, nearly 8 USD, but the quality is once again, far superior. I don't think we will be seeing a new ATL version for quite some time, if at all, by any other developer, so this is it for now, and in that respect, I would recommend it absolutely. It is a commendable effort of a difficult airport to tackle, good effort Imaginesim. Can you see yourself buying this? Questions? Let me know.
  3. Scenery developers Imaginesim have released more images to tease their upcoming Singapore Changi release for Prepar3D v4. After a Facebook post earlier this week revealed images of what the developer says will be animated airport staff, today's preview revealed further modelling of service vehicles. The intricate level of detail being modelled hints at what might yet be to come from scenery developers in a 64-bit world, freed from the memory constraints of FSX and prior versions of Prepar3D. However, whilst we may have ever busier and more lifelike representations of airports to look forward to, there will no doubt be those wondering how such innovations will impact performance.
  4. Dear all, I was wondering if someone has managed to use imaginesim wsss flawlessly with P3D v2, I tried mine but I see no buildings only jetways. I looked into V2 master compatibility list but no info on WSSS was given, Thanks. Hendrik
  5. I am currently using an addon airport VIDP from ImagineSim and having problems with the ILS glideslope. I will try to add as many pictures and screenshots as I can to describe my problem. Everytime I try to land on any runway, the glideslope brings me down much before the runway starts. This is valid for all the runways. Even on FSCommander 9.1 the ILS feathers show the glideslope touching down before the runway. Here is an image of how it looks on FSCommander: I dont know whether this is an issue with the PMDG FMC database and/or the FSX navigation/GPS database or the airport addon itself is misconfigured, Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Hi, I purchased the Imagine Sim scenery for VIDP yesterday. The problem I am facing is that there are trees in the middle of one of the runways. To be more precise, in the middle of the main runway, 29-11. Can anybody help me remove these so that i can use the scenery? I would like to mention : 1) I bought a new system and installed FSX on the same day as i installed the imagine sim scenery. So there is no other payware/freeware existing scenery that might overlap. 2) Just to give a background : The default scenery does not contain rwy 29-11 as this is a new runway and was built recently. Probably due to this reason, the default scenery has trees where rwy 29-11 is supposed to be. And when i load the imagine sim VIDP airport, the default scenery does not get suppressed and is overlapping with the payware scenery. Any help or solution to this problem would be highly appreciated. Please let me know if i can provide any further information. I have attached pictures to give you a better idea of my problem Thanks! P.S : I am all for the environment and even though removing trees is not a wise idea, as you can guess, i would not like to land my aircraft in the middle of a forest
  7. Hello everyone! (First post on AVSIM FORUM YAY) Anwyays, I want to buy Imaginesim VIDP. It's only FSX compatible, but using estonia migration tool has anyone got it to work in P3D V2.4? Thank you.

  9. Somehow Prepar3d keeps "forgetting" in the scenery library where the ImagineSim Atlanta scenery files are. The file location is never listed. Next time I loaded Prepar3d, I got this message. Eventually Prepar3d deactivates it. This is very frustrating. A manual install of the scenery results in no textures for the Atlanta airport area. Is there a fix for this?
  10. Hey guys So, in the continued search for a better FSX experience, I added some SweetFX tweaks to the Sim and came up with some pretty satisfactory results. This time I took the PA A320 (still learning how to fly the Aerosoft one) for a spin on Delta Airlines Flight 1407 between KATL and KCLT. Hope you like them Final preps before pushback Taxi to Runway 9L V1! Climbing to FL310 Starting the descent into runway 18C Lining up Quiet CFMs over the city Flaring ^_^ Almost there Opening up the flowers Parking next to some American mates And that's it!
