Congratulations!Wishing you a good and short BETA testing time. I'm waiting to learn and fly this aircraft. :)

Good news!Hope the FSX BETA goes smooth so you can send out the FS9 version as that is the one i'm waiting for.Looking forward to the manual too,as that will be my new bible for many years to come :).And regards to the manual, will there be 2 different versions(one for FSX and one for FS9) or are these gathered into one big manual?I hope there won't be a lot of differences between the FSX and FS9 versions regarding systems and functionality(like in another 767).Anyways,thnx for the heads up and looking forward to the following reports!Regards,Steven

Thanks for that. I'll start to get officially excited once I hear that the FS9 version is in beta.Hopefully the FSX beta will be short and sweet and wish all FSXers out there a speedy delivery of this much awaited aircraft :-)

This MD-11 is one that almost everyone has been waiting for.I think when it is released the download link is going to sound like a swimming pool draining.Good luck with the Beta and I will be camping out in front of your door to purchase it (I hope your Porta-Potty is in good shape!).Bob

Congratulations! Thanks for the info. Just in time for my new system to be able to run fsx!

This is good news.I hope you are able to get it all nailed down, polished and delivered ASAP.One question though. I most likely will buy both versions. Will this be offered as 1 "big product" with a wait for the FS9 availability? Or will it be buy FSX and get a discount on FS9? ( ie 1 credit card MD11 purchase rather than 2 )I really prefer the first option due to that ever present issue of WAF (Wife acceptance factor)- explaining 2 MD11's is much harder than explaining 1.I hope you take us folks with a WAF problem into consideration! Cheers,Paul

In another thread you said that "...we are anticipating having the manuals available well before release so that you can begin brushing up on your McDonnell Douglas/Boeing processes- and be well studied in time for initial delivery of the MD-11 to your hangar." With that in mind will the manual be available in the near future? I'd like to begin studying ASAP :)

Congrats Robert and all of PMDG. :) I'll be waiting for the FS9 version, but I can't wait to see more info on it all, and finally release.

Quote:>How is the FS9 version going?: The FS9 version is behind the>FSX version. This is due in part to the inferior capabilities>of FS9, and the need to build new, or in some cases,>re-engineer aspects of the product that will be specific to>FS9. (In effect, this is really like building 1.75 products>because the versions are so different.) Our goal currently is>that the FS9 version should be released within sixty days of>the FSX version barring any technical hurdles that we haven't>yet cracked our kneecaps on. If we don't hit any further>hurdles, we are hoping to keep the FS9 release as close to the>FSX release as possible- as in: within weeks. (No promises)As I look back on the development time lines of the MD11, I notice that the MD11 actually started before the release of FS9, so you would assume that MOST of the development was done using the FS9 platform. I agree that the FSX added a whole new dimension to he simulation, it's hard to believe that you will have to rewrite 75% of the code to comply with FS9 limitations. Did I miss something here?Congratulations on the Beta status and looking forward to both release, but I am one who still believes that the hardware does exist yet to run FSX will all the gusto that we can run FS9 on.Steve Park
