May 6, 200719 yr EXCELLENT! Looks way cool!1) Will there be a ASv6 previous-user discount for the bundle package?2) Does it support enroute step-climbs on long-hauls? In other words, my initial flight-plan is filed at FL330 and I submit a plan, then I step to 350 and 370, will it adjust weather reports and so on?3) Does it finaly get rid of the clearing skies as we pass through FL100? I.e., true graduated visability from Ground to upper FL's?4) With FSX-Deluxe, I gather from the website that we can still use this new AS from a remote PC over simconnect? Like current WideFS?Thanks, and again, this looks like an awsome upgrade. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
May 6, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hi Al!This isn't an upgrade this time, totally new stuff, new dev team, new content, new technology, etc. There will be a discount for the bundle that past users or new users can both take advantage of.ASX uses multiple wind layers with wind level altitude selectors in the map view and other areas. So the altitude you are flying at, or plan to fly out, or just want to examine is all available. The vertical visibility transitions are greatly improved, yes... no more 10K foot hard level. May 6, 200719 yr Will there be integration of the new Ground Environment when it is released, as it was in AS6.5?Thanks...can't wait to get my hands on this! Tim Hughes
May 6, 200719 yr Cool, thanks Jim and Damien. I can understand the full new development especially with the cost of the new server. I am also curious about Ground Environemnt Pro integration. Also, how are you simulating huricanes when most of the time, the RW weather monitor stations get taken offline with high wind and power outages? Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
May 6, 200719 yr Damian bought the first version till the latest so will end up with this one to all depending on SP1 and performance for FSX...Great news congratulations to you all ;-)Andr André

May 6, 200719 yr Hope you guys enjoy the 2 new products.Beta2 about to start on FSXE and Beta3 following closely behind for ASX so we are very very close to RTM versions on both products.ThanksCarl Hackmanhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg
May 6, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hi again,We will try to integrate with any popular add-ons as long as they are fully FSX-compatible and the technical means are there. It shouldn't be too difficult.Hurricane data is not coming from METARs :) We actually ignore the METARs within a large radius around the hurricanes and override them with proper synthesized hurricane parameters.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

May 6, 200719 yr I used WxRE on 2k2, now ASv6.5 on FS9 and have always been happy with the product and friendly support. I wish you all the best with what looks like another superb product :-) Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
May 6, 200719 yr I have been very happy with AS 6.5 so I am looking forward to your new product. As you are now using Simconnect, will we still need WideFS to run Active Sky from a second computer ? May 6, 200719 yr Hi,Thanks! No, WideFS is not going to work at all, only SimConnect. If you have the deluxe version you will be able to set up Simconnect to work over your network and then install ASX on your client machine.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 6, 200719 yr This looks very interesting. But one feature was not mentioned at all (or I was too stupid to find it ;-)).What about the Weather Finder? I find this a very useful, but limited feature in the current version. Was this enhanced somehow? Will probably buy the bundle anyway :-)Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
