March 1, 200719 yr The Feelthere ERJ is not based on Bill Grabowski's panel AFAIK. And both the FT 737 and the A3XX are, for the time being at least, the "benchmark of airliners" (sic) in respect of their types.Regards,
February 7, 201115 yr I have something to say. Alot of unhappy people in the world. Noone here is easy to satisfy. Most here will find a gripe about EVERYTHING!!!! This add-on is alright. Runs good on my laptop. 11fps to 19 fps is good. Listen. Noone's eyes in the human species can see 'frames per second'. Fluid frame rates at 11 fps is sufficient. 20 fps is better. Noone can see past pass 11. If you wanna say you can then ask yourself how much nonsense are you full of?
February 7, 201115 yr Though I don't agree with some of the extreme comments here, and I do continue to fly the FT 737 because it's the only 737 classic available in FS9 with a VC, it is definitely a typical Feel There/Wilco product - unfinished, disappointing and way over-rated. That it was awarded an AVSIM Gold Star is about as good an argument for revisiting the review rating system as any I know. It can be fun to fly, if you can ignore all the non-functional components and the occasional auto-pilot nightmare, and try not to notice the gap in the VC panel where you can see outside and numerous other annoying and completely fixable weaknesses. (One of my personal favorites is the invisible TO/GA button. The function is modelled - there's a click spot on the MCP. But apparently spending an hour or so fixing the bit map so you can see it wasn't considered worthwhile.) :( And by using the famous "Pilot in Command" phrase in their marketing, Wilco totally destroyed the credibility of that "branding" for any future products they may release.I will never be able to understand why the amazing DreamFleet 737 wasn't ported over to FS9 - it was so far ahead of its time and would still stand out as an excellent product and leave the Feel There 737 in the dust. The DF 727 is among my absolute top choices for the greatest FS9 payware aircraft ever - such a shame it was never joined by their 737...The comment about the unofficial Feel There forum is correct. Though they are not especially friendly, they definitely are helpful and knowledgeable about the productAs for the above statement about 11 fps being "sufficient." If the fps falls below 22 fps is is completely noticeable to the human eye and anything below 20 degrades the illusion of "flying." Below 18 - why even bother? If it isn't fluid, it isn't real. Period! That's not being "unhappy" - it's just being in touch with reality. And after a career as a professional pilot, I think I know something about what is "real."Ian
February 7, 201115 yr Noone can see past pass 11. If you wanna say you can then ask yourself how much nonsense are you full of?Ohhh boy, there we go again...Do yourself a favour and buy a CRT monitor. Put it on 60Hz refresh rate and please restate your above remark. Also do a Google search on the difference between refresh rates and motion blur.Have fun Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro
February 7, 201115 yr What is amazing is that he took the time to resuscitate a 3 year old post out of its well deserved graveyard and told someone who has not dealt with this issue at all during the last 3 years that he was full of nonsense. This is really amazing (even more than the 11 fps fluid laptop lol).
February 7, 201115 yr So what did the Avsim reviewer say about this product. I notice yesterday they had a review on Hanoi scenery without ever mentioning where you get it. Wonderful. Same with the Nordic 737 video a few weeks back. Jim
February 7, 201115 yr this ..... thread ........ is ....... THREE .... PLUS ..... YEARS ........ OLD. the product has been SPed in the years, years, years since the OP.also: the issues of FSX performance come on hardware that is sub-standard to today's CPUs (and todays just barely can support FSX).someone when digging to pull this thread from the AVSIM forum vault.-- D. February 7, 201115 yr Oh Dear I Totally Agree - Good Grief! My penultimate FS add-on was MD11 - FSX {which was very challenging and great fun}. But my last was the Wilco/FeelThere 737 in both FS9 and FSX which I needed for my VA {which again is both challenging and great fun}. To me the FT 737 is a classic example of several add-ons in the FS2002/4 days which were ahead of their time (I could also mention eg the PSS 757 - best 757 systems to date). And today I have just installed the IFLY 737.Am I a dinorsaur - perhaps, but I do enjoy without too much criticism the amazing work of all our developers.John R
