Wilco E-Jets released

Featured Replies

Oh never mind. I am just on the skype with my friend who bought it. He said No they don't work and in addition he is ###### he bought it. Exact words....."Garbage". And what is this that all the data for weights and stuff is given for the E170 but not the 190. What is with that? The 190 is in the package. FINISH THE PRODUCT!

I quite like the product and think it has good potential, despite there being a quite a few bugs. One of my main annoyances as mentioned previous, is when turning the plane descends over a thousand feet per 90 degree turn. And then climbs back up when the turn is complete.

>I agree - it is a very good product. There are no show>stopper bugs, only minor issues. They look great and fly very>nicely. (FDE by Rob Young).>I am happy with my purchase!>:-) An inability to perform a proper autoland is not an indication of a "very good" product. I would (and do) most definitely call that a showstopper. And before I'm screamed at by the "hand flying approaches" brigade, I hand fly them as well, but, as I've already explained somewhere else in this thread, a poorly designed autoland system is indicative of most systems being inadequately or improperly simulated. Autolands require the utmost precision from the sim to be executed properly, with navigation aids and autothrottle working in perfect sync (case in point: PMDG 747, with a nearly flawless autoland simulation). There have been many an add-on which could not execute a good autoland - these planes tended to have bugs in other phases of the flight as well. Some of these problems were not as profound as others, but in all my testing of the add-ons that I have, an autoland (or at least an approach to minimums, on those planes that do not have an autoland feature) is the very first thing that I test on them. Do these bugs render a plane unflyable? Not any more than the lack of ABS, traction control or an automatic transmission make a car undriveable under most conditions. Do something a little less than ordinary though and they will rear their ugly heads. Watch the plane bank at 45 degrees and fall out of the sky, or have it overspeed and break apart just because it decides that 6000 fpm is an adequate idle descent path, or crash right after take-off, because the FMC miscalculated the weights or the autopilot commanded a 40 degree nose up attitude...and so on (examples from various birds I've tested). If you hand fly your big (and smaller) iron all the way from take off to landing, you most likely won't notice them, but if you do take realism to the extreme and want to fly by the numbers like the pros, an autoland is a great proving ground of the bird's potential.

Cheers,

Mack

Part of the problem is that most of the people complaining about the autoland featture are thee ones who haven't taken the time tim learn about the aircraft and read the manual... I've done 3 autolands and they work flawlessly! As I said earlier to monsoon... if you don't like it.. don't buy it... but for God's sake quit complaining about it!

In fact, there is a bug with glideslope tracking/sensitivity and has been confirmed by FeelThere (supposedly fixed in the upcoming Service Pack). Same goes for overbanking and LNAV disconnects. The bugs have been reproduced by numerous users and the FT support staff. Without complaints, these problems wouldn't have been addressed :)Of course the above goes for those users who take the time to document and relay these bugs to support, those who just whine and moan without trying to be proactive aren't being particularly helpful.

Cheers,

Mack

... nevermind....I was going to respond to monsoon... but it is just not worth it to engage in conversation with morons!

I think I got it covered, ok? We don't need to add more fuel. We're all passionate, I'm sure you guys would be great friends in person, so let's not ruin it. :-)

You 2 can either take my advice and resolve this the easy way, or we can let it go to the mods....your choice. I'm trying to be somewhat diplomatic here without getting the entire planet involved. I thought we were more mature then this.
