July 11, 200817 yr >Oh and I installed and tried it out at break - looks pretty>decent so far, just needs the bugs ironed out - I love those>MFD's btw, esp since the mouse clicks control it. ERJ170Driver>how do you control those screens in the real plane? Are they>touchscreen or controlled via a trackball or something? Thanks>for the link to your Youtube channel, I'll be sure to check>that out :)I bought this video from Just Planes about a month ago: http://www.worldairroutes.com/CirrusE170.htmlIt was very helpful in preparing me for this release! They show just about everything from power-up to shut-down... plus they give a very good description of just about every system on the plane!I love these videos, by the way... I own about 25 of them! They're great for learning about the systems in the the various aircraft, not to mention learning certain procedures from airports around the world. I highly recommend them!
July 11, 200817 yr How detailed is the video? How much time is spent looking at the flight deck and procedures vs the view outside?I have 3 or 4 justplanes / world air routes DVDs and 4 ITVV dvds - I find some of the Justplanes aren't all that great since they are 90% just the view out the front or from the cabin instead of in the cockpit and of what's going on vs. the ITVV DVDs where it's all about what the pilots are doing.I highly recommend all the ITVV videos btw (I have Concorde, 767 Leisure, A320 InterEuropean, 737 Go)
July 11, 200817 yr David,It's about 95% inside the plane... they explain everything! It includes a walkaround as well... this one is definitely a must have if you wanna learn the systems in the E170! They do only two flights - Cologne to Olbia and Olbia to Munich.. so there's almost 2 hours worth of cockpit time! During each flight, they explain nearly every system. The pilots are German, but speak very good english.. so it's not as difficult to understand their explanations as it is in some of the other videos. The power-up sequence at the beginning is particularly interesting.. the video actually starts with them removing the engine covers.. and it's a very cold morning (its so cold you can see their breath when they first get into the cockpit) so you get a REAL cold and dark startup! LOL!It's well worth it!
July 11, 200817 yr I must be really dense (no comments please), but I can't seem to get it to work. I've read the manual several times, but the best I could get it to do is follow the lOC, but not the ILS.Is there a tutorial somewhere? I'm used to flying Boeing and Airbus, and I'm finding this one a real challenge.Any further help would be much appreciated.Bill
July 11, 200817 yr Thanks, I'll check that out then :)>David,>>It's about 95% inside the plane... they explain everything!>>It includes a walkaround as well... this one is definitely a>must have if you wanna learn the systems in the E170! >>They do only two flights - Cologne to Olbia and Olbia to>Munich.. so there's almost 2 hours worth of cockpit time!>During each flight, they explain nearly every system.>>The pilots are German, but speak very good english.. so it's>not as difficult to understand their explanations as it is in>some of the other videos.>>The power-up sequence at the beginning is particularly>interesting.. the video actually starts with them removing the>engine covers.. and it's a very cold morning (its so cold you>can see their breath when they first get into the cockpit) so>you get a REAL cold and dark startup! I love to watch the crew in action, some of the DVD's cover this better than others. I think the ones Udo shoots are much better (from my perspective).I love watching the tecniques the pilot's use. Among my favortie DVD's are the Polar Air Cargo, GOL and HLX ones.If you have your eye on one and want my review just let me know. Al Stiff

July 12, 200817 yr Ok, now I'm intrigued, but I still have a few problems with the autoland.1. Once I've set the arrival runway (with no star or approach), I get a dicontinuity message in the flightplan. Is this normal? How can this be corrected?2. I have to set the frequencies in the Nav1 and Nav2 manually, does the FMC not do this automatically?3. I have to set the CRS heading manually. Again, should the FMC not set this automatically?4. The localize works but I can't get the aircraft to descend.Maybe I've become to used to Boeing and Airbus aircraft, but you would thing that a modern aircraft like the E-Jets would do this for the pilots.Am I still doing something wrong or is this just the way it is with Embraer aircraft?Any guidance would be appreciated.Bill

July 12, 200817 yr I think the point that Clay was making was that the writing is so small on the panel that it is not possible to read the button labels. If tooltips are disabled you will not be able to discern the purpose of the buttons.Sometimes flightsim requires a compromise between realism and usability. I think these buttons could have been a shade bigger, or at least the labels more legible. Graeme Butler
July 12, 200817 yr I give up, I can't get this thing to work. I guess I'll just have to wait until they either patch the product or start a support forum.Looks like I'm back to Airbus and Boeing.Bill
July 12, 200817 yr bill:there IS a support forum -http://forum.iemit.com/register and then you can view/post in the PIC EMB forum.-- D. Scobie, feelThere support forum moderator: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/169-feelthere-support-forums/
July 12, 200817 yr Hello,I have this addon. I have flown about 6 test flights with it; manual, FMS and a combo of both. There are certainly problems with the logic but my flights have all been OK. The manual one was a circle from KCHS and around to its ILS runway. This one went OK.Instruments that I needed worked fine so I could do a manual landing. The FMS flight was KCHS -> KCAE and all went fine until approach. The AUTOPILOT/ILS overreacts a lot and altitude/speed of approach were so jumpy that I had to go around and setup again at about 15 miles further out. The landing was OK.In general I really like this sim - a lot of systems for me to manage but really easy to get going from cold/dark to pushback. I tried it with AES and flew one more flight from KATL to KCHS. This one went really good but I set up to land about 10 miles further out than normally and the overreaction of the AUTOPILOT was better. This flight was an AUTOLAND on runway 33 and that was OK also. The touchdown was spot on.I'm not a real pilot so I cannot relate flight characteristics but to me it seems OK.With updates, this one could become my favorite Heavy Metal A/C. I don't like to fly long distances so I now stick to the Business Jets, PMDG 737 and now this one.Cheers,Ron Sagelnear KCHS
July 12, 200817 yr Graeme, Roger that, LOL! My friend was running 1024x768, his machine is capable of running much higher res, so I cranked it up to 1280x960 and you can make them out fairly well. Thanks for your replyBest to you and yours, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
July 13, 200817 yr I have to jump in on this one.No offence Ron, but I offered my help to Eaglesoft when it was first annouced that you were working on the CII, being an active CII pilot for three years at the time. I was turned down and told that you had all you needed. When the plane came out the flight model was excellent but many cockpit functions were so wrong there is no way a real life CII pilot could have missed. When I pointed them out on the forum I was told that it was not meant to be an accurate simulation but made for entertainment. Even the latest version has some obvious deviations easy to correct, for exemple the AP light should be yellow and come ON when the AP disconnects.I was accepted once to beta test a plane I now fly, but most of my feed back was considered not important. For me power settings, electrical systems and so on are pretty important to make a realistic plane.Again no offence, I have a lot of respect for your team and your work, it's just that sometimes I wish I could bring something to the community from my real life experience but I often feel like many developers don't like to be told by a real life pilot that's not how it should work. Another good exemple is a certain payware C-130 that gets many great reviews but something as basic as the flight director doesn't work properly. For me as a real life pilot who uses a FD daily, it's unflyable IFR, but I guess very few simmers ever noticed. Thanks for your great work and I look forward to your next product.Dan
