June 10, 200916 yr George Grimshaw is working on an FSX version of KBOS... See the FlyTampa Forums.I have a few BP sceneries simply because there are no alternatives, but their choices lately... :( Mike...
June 10, 200916 yr Blueprint would be worth the $15 if they had added AES compatibility, but otherwise their airports are stuck in yesteryear.Just goes to show you how it's always different strokes for different folks in this hobby: I dumped my AES after about 6 months -- it was just way too much money and after a while just too much of a pain to set up, for not enough (ONLY my opinion) functionality. I get all the necessary ground interaction via FSPassengers, pushback gauges, and Flight Deck Companion, so I don't need it in any of my addons.Best regards -- Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. June 10, 200916 yr Regardless of low price, BP airports are so wanting by today's standards, I'd rather not fly into a particular airport at all if BP is the only alternative to default. Regards, Mark
June 10, 200916 yr Take a look at the site. That's all he does pretty much. These are done or will be released soon from Blueprint:KBOS Flytampa FreewareTBPB Freeware that is better quailityKORD FSDreamteam CYYC Dennis DefrancoTJSJ ImagineSimAnd all of these are AES support with the exception of BarbadosNot sure how you make any money developing half rate versions of better quality payware.Well at lease he's got my .02 centsWhere can I find the Dennis Defranco CYYC scenery you mentioned? I don't think I heard of this scenery before.
June 10, 200916 yr Where can I find the Dennis Defranco CYYC scenery you mentioned? I don't think I heard of this scenery before.I think he meant CYYZ and that was located here in the library. Nathan
June 10, 200916 yr CRAP!! Sorry i did Mean CYYZ although CanUK does have a very nice CYYC which I'm trying to get AES support for. Clarke Kruger - CYEG
June 11, 200916 yr I think he meant CYYZ and that was located here in the library.Dennis Di Franco's Toronto Pearson (CYYZ) is available at Flightsim.com - filename is cyyz2007.zipVery nice - in my opinion.
June 11, 200916 yr I have....YAWN... looked a AES and do not understand the fuss about it. Besides which, it's costly to maintain AFAIK.
June 11, 200916 yr I have never understood the big deal about AES either. But I'll look into it. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU

June 11, 200916 yr Hey ClarkeHow did you get your copy of CYYC? I downloaded the demo, sent off my money to CanUK for the unlock code and am still waiting.BobI was on the Beta Team. Let me look into it.You should've been sent a file that unlocks it rather than a code.I have never understood the big deal about AES either. But I'll look into it.Different Strokes I guess.I never understood people who spend so much time adding AI when something like VATSIM exists either. Clarke Kruger - CYEG
June 11, 200916 yr I have looked a AES and do not understand the fuss about itIt's not a fuss, it's pure enjoyment and a big bunch of extra realism at airports (as far as we can expect realism from MFS).I never understood people who spend so much time adding AI when something like VATSIM exists eitherI, for instance, happily use my AI aircraft during online VATSIM sessions. They are much better than the ones offered by VIP or MPP packages. So there's no disagreement between these two kinds of action. And if I do an offline flight my airports are realistically filled with various airlines instead of being empty like after a nuclear world war. :( Best regards,
June 11, 200916 yr I tried AES and I do understand some simmer's love of it, but for me there were too many drawbacks to it: 1) It will never be the standard, available at every airport in MSFS, therefore it's restrictive.2) The animation was primitive and therefore distracting to me (probably a limitation of the sim?).3) It's repetitive -- same thing, same voices at every airport, took away from the realism4) Setting it up kept me from flying. (There are/were a lot of preconfigured files on the AVSIM library, so this may have changed.)4) And, it's pretty expensive -- ever notice how their credits are sold in blocks of 10 and activations are usually 4 or 3 credits, which can't be readily divided into 10? (That was pretty clever of those AES guys.) I never understood people who spend so much time adding AI when something like VATSIM exists either.Because VATSIM requires quite a great deal of focus. I have a wife and family with responsibilities that often require me to speak to and interact with them even though I may be simming. It's kind of a deal I have with them. :( Different Strokes I guess. Most definately. And that's why I strongly believe that the BluePrint sceneries are worth the $15 they charge. IMHO, they're better than any freeware versions and they're 1/2 the price of any other payware airports out there. :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. I'm not sure. My wife and kids let me fly every night, and all weekend, basically whenever I want. She's a voracious reader, my boys are well into their teens now, my cockpit is in the kitchen where I'm not secluded from the rest of the family (no headsets allowed either!), and they let me fly as much as I want but my wife definitely draws the line at on - line flying. She says she simply won't ask permission to speak to me, or wait until it's "all clear" and I think that's more than fair! :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B.
