June 14, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member now on indefinite hiatus; thanks to all who've supported us through the yearsNo way! The A380 had come a long way. I hope whoever has the rights to it releases it. Very sad indeed.eric
June 14, 200916 yr FarewellHello and welcome [sic] to projectairbus,We have, as of today, disbanded, and mothballed the development of the A380. The download section will remain offline indefinitely. Our forums, as well as our Twitter feed, will, for the time being, remain online. We have, however, locked the Previews and Support forums.PA's second death! Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
June 14, 200916 yr Its a shame that they never bothered to give the A380 files to a different developer to complete. They are NOT helping the FS community by doing so. Nobody wins when they do that- an act of selfishness on their part. I have no more respect for them. :( Danny

I have no more respect for them. :( And it's exactly that kind off attitude that keeps discouraging FREEWARE developers from continuing to contribute to this hobby. :( Maurice
June 15, 200916 yr So it seems they've flown off into the land of vapourware.AlWell yes, if you choose to ignore all their previous releases that is. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Though it would be great if PA were to be around completing their projects, I'm grateful for their contributions released free to the community. I hope they reconsider and return, but if not, thank you for your time and excellent quality products. Also thank you for your professionalism in your forums and your patience in dealing with the variety of FS users. RegardsPA produced AMAZING stuff for FS, and I thank them for that, but to just throw in the towel like that just seems stupid to me. Your not benefiting yourself or anyone around you.....Why not make one last contribution to the FS community and finish the project? If things were really bad and they couldn't finish it, then give the flies to someone else to work on. Either way, I hope they come back! Danny

If things were really bad and they couldn't finish it, then give the flies to someone else to work on. Either way, I hope they come back!I'll go easy on you because you are a noob but your last two staements show you haven't got to grips with what goes on in the fs community.Don't be naive to think that any developer, both pay and freeware are going to hand over their work for someone else to finish. PA had a lot of problems a while back, I don't plan to ressurect them here but I'm sure you can find out what happened by searching. I too hope they come back but fully understand if they stick two fingers up and say no.
June 16, 200916 yr Ok then, what is going on with the FS community other then the fact that it is shrinking, Fs2004 is slowly being forgotton, and there is (most likly) no FS11? Please explain, as I am a noob and need another noob to do the explaining for me. :( Again, it just seems stupid that you would let all that hard work go to waste rather then crush it and follow the trend of FS developers (which is go payware or call it quits :( ).Please do provide things to search, as I truly am intrested in find out about what happened to PA in the past. :( Danny
June 16, 200916 yr I recall from their forum posts that the Project Airbus team lost motivation to continue FS development because of the lack of motivational following by others (they wanted to inspire others to develop for the hobby) as well as due to real life circumstances that would impede their ability to continue development (such as army/job/education).Without time and motivation it is likely that they just decided to stop financially supporting the site so the host itself (a pay-as-you-go type) was the one that took it down.Their decision not to release the A380 (they said in their announcement that they would rather not release an incomplete product and would rather hold onto it to possibly work on it a later date) resulted in a massive flame war that may have also contributed to their decision to let the site die.Regardless of their decision, I will be thankful for their hard work for a long time to come.
