How are the navigation controls? Any autopilot with the option to hold heading and altitude? I tried grabbing the pdf from the site but its timing out for me.
Alpha, please try a right click and "save link as" on the PDF manual. It should be working fine, but sometimes the adobe reader has some trouble streaming it I find.Thanks,-Mike

Thanks Mike. That worked for me. I really like how this aircraft looks, but I am going to have to wait a few weeks before I do a purchase. I am also just now getting into VATSIM and flying online. This aircraft sounds like a great candidate for flying online with a few friends, maybe some formation stuff.

Flight1, PMDG, Eaglesoft,...etc, this guy could teach you a few lessons !Jean-PaulI see a well done package with well done effects (FX) files contained in a very well done movie file. Ron Hamilton

For the sake of the hobby and your future sales, I wished it had inspired you more than that... Jean-Paul<_<
Maybe you should work on your technique.....

Just took the plunge and yep she's a beaut. Great Flight Dynamics, system modeling and great package. But the best thing is the maker. If you read Mikes story in the about us page on his website. The guy is a great all around gent and the love of the hobby brought him home and I'm sure a great plane and more to come.

This looks awesome and I don't even like jets! Do you have to start it exactly like you would IRL? Are the startup systems and all procedures and flight characteristics modeled? I'm a stickler for realism and ctrl-E isn't my thing.

I'm intending to purchase on the weekend. Any plans for doing a classic era (steam gauges) airliner, maybe the 707 or DC8? Any chance of working with PMDG or LDS to implement similar landing light tech? Or maybe this tech be made as standalone light package for use with any aircraft?I cant believe you can actually light up the raindrops, but there it is in the video, amazing! This is DX9?

Well it has extremely realistic start procedures accurate for type. And you will have to use them if your default flight is cold and dark or you start from a saved flight with the aircraft shut down.On the other hand, my default flight is the default Cessna with all systems running; somehow this much more advanced jet spawns with all its systems a 172 doesn't have on. I like the comraderie of Multi-player, and often to keep up with the crowd I skip the cold start. On this bird, the only things I had to do were turn on oxygen supply, lights, GPS and decide appropriate flap setting for mission. There are situations where you can lose an engine through mismanagement; if it is because you have failed to activate engine de-icing when needed there is no way to melt the ice after the inlet freezing causes the engine to quit. There are other situations where you can get an aerial relight using realistic procedures... even two separate procedures for N1 windmilling at 22 percent and above or below that threshold.I highly suggest reading the manual. One thing I would like to stress; this is not some bloated manual where they tantalise you with things that matter to real world pilots of the type but are not modeled in the virtual aircraft... Among other things Mike is very straightforward about that.Robert

Mike, No problem dude. I soley love to endorse people of your nature. Congrats on your work and it is amazing how the heart of the product has raised the bar on Simulation aircraft and you are truley where you belong. I hope it brings you everything that you put into it.

I agree with everything thats been said so far. Its an amazing plane. You can see that this is a creation with a lot of love put into it. The only downside, is, I dont want to fly anything else, its spoiled me.Rob

Sure. Maybe EagleSoft will implement similar lighting, VC rain and icing effects. :(
We've already done VC Lighting. See this picture: http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/forum_shots/TC/panel2.jpgWe'll look at creating custom LL, VC Rain, and Icing FX Files but only on certain aircraft types.Keep in mind that you are looking at (FX) Effects files gentlemen, nothing more, nothing less. We've already complimentented the author of this package so let's not make this into a contest. :(

I don't think anyone is saying a competition mode for customers is in order. Mikes great work only shows what is possible and what we as consumers of a large but "small" community will come to expect when we "buy" simulation products. I truly believe that this very aircraft will define in simmers the marking point of what truly is possible to the next gen sims. I mean no pun on PMDG, Level D or others , the list is to big. But this aircraft , which I am only a fan of because of the R/C videos on You Tube, will be the defining moment of what is come to expect and the best all out effort by a developer. I think the PMDG J41 is also one to look for. I mean who put that smudge on the glass anyways. As alot of simmers say Immersion is what were looking for. I will sacrifice pretty for the feel of being their and the L-39 certainly quenches my thirst in that department.

Mike, This is such a great add-on for this low and slow GA guy. I'm not one into buying jets, but this gem I had to get. Did a few traffic patterns to check the flight dynamics and had a ball, so I took her for some NOE through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Though I blacked out a few times because of the excessive G's, my mind was still aching for some more, luckily I had enough fuel to make it back to KELM to put her to bed. I've got to say this is the most fun I've had in FSX for a while. I and my wallet look forward to your next project.Keep up the good work. :( :( :(

According to the LotusSim website the landing lights are not just simple "effects".http://www.lotussim.com/features-general-landinglights.html
The Lotus L-39 features a totally unique and extremely effective new landing light system, one that actually properly illuminates the ground, allowing you to find your way in the dark. This is not an attached halo effect but an integral part of the aircraft, one which must be seen in action to be fully appreciated. The landing lights alter their intensity smoothly and accurately with the time of day, being very powerful at night, less so during dawn or dusk periods, and realistically ineffective during daylight. They also correctly illuminate raindrops that fall directly in front of them when flying in poor weather. Even the strobe lights illuminate the ground correctly whenever they flash.
Is it possible to make these type of landing lights into a seperate addon product. The way they illuminate the ground/sceneryobjects/rain would seem to be a revolutionary advance not seen before in FSX. I would buy such an addon to outfit my existing aircraft which such lights.Maybe the L39 developer can comment on this?
