L-39 out!

According to the LotusSim website the landing lights are not just simple "effects".http://www.lotussim.com/features-general-landinglights.htmlIs it possible to make these type of landing lights into a seperate addon product. The way they illuminate the ground/sceneryobjects/rain would seem to be a revolutionary advance not seen before in FSX. I would buy such an addon to outfit my existing aircraft which such lights.Maybe the L39 developer can comment on this?
Please understand that I am not mitigating the authors work. I'm using the term Effects files in a generic way. Whether modeled or attached, what you see falls generally into the category of Effects files. :(

OKaaaay.... Effects, flight model (which happens to include the best spin dynamics in a flight model I have experienced); systems depth and fidelity; a collimated gunsight combined with effective landing lights that Aerosoft with all their resources said was impossible... and to top it off this one-man-show-debut made it sing on multiplayer and fully shared cockpit compatible... That is more than RealAir and PMDG seem capable of with their latest releases.Sour Grapes???Robert Alley

I accidentally found me in this situation as well after some medium altitude stall tests :( . That was hard work to recover.... I was searching the eject handles already lol.Congrats Mike - that's indeed very impressive work :(

Cheers

I feel I must also chime in and say well done Mike, it looks fantastic. People who raise the bar and push the boundaries of FS development deserve the highest praise.Max.

Blimey..Sounds like the sun shines out of its tailpipe...Come on chaps, there's got to be something wrong with it. There has to be! :( Tell me there is and I can put off purchasing..... Ian

There is a BIG problem with it. You need to read the darn manual! :-)It will be interesting to see if the shared cockpit feature becomes well used. If so it will give other aircraft authors an incentive. It certainly looks like a labour of love.

LOL... I'll bite!!! Gripe mode on...Okay, haven't confirmed yet, but the knobs on the GPS look 3D. How the heck will that make the Reality XP 430 GPS appear?Yes, there are systems that you have to respect, but it does not appear that damage is cumulative like the A2A B377 or the Dodosim 206. If this is true failures caused by lesser abuse over an extended period stretching over several sim sessions are not a factor. I have been having some trouble with frame rate with complex aircraft lately that I have just corrected. But I don't see why I should have gone through the trouble. I mean, just because the last time I updated my video drivers using Driver Cleaner I accidentally deleted every Nvidia driver instead of just my video ones doesn't mean I should be excluded. I mean, Mike should have realized I had no optimized SATA driver and compensated!!! Sheesh!!!Robert

Ok, I purchased it last night and tried it out for a couple of hours. Amazing! Some of the things I noticed in my short test flight:-* Very high FPS VC and external model* VC and external model is highly detailed* Very smooth gauge movement* Some small gauge needles will vibrate with engine vibration, this looks great.* Landing lights illuminate the ground properly instead of just washing it out like standard FSX lighting! They also illuminate other objects and rain.* VC lighting is superb. Intensity changes with time of day to reflect effect of ambient light.* VC raindrops and icing!* Scratches on the canopy catch the sun* 3d positional sound and excellent sound effects* Nice flight model, be wary of the slow engine spool up on approach, easy to trim, no AP so this is a "hands on" aircraft. All in all an excellent product that raises the bar in a number of areas. Congrats to LotusSim. I hope other developers (eg PMDG and LDS) can match your outstanding feature set with their upcoming products.

Does the ice build-up affect the flight characteristics? Or are these visual effects only?

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus - this is a superb add-on. The sense of flight is outstanding, it's very easy on framerate and even easier on the eye and it's an absolute joy to fly. It easily makes my short list of FS add-on must-haves.

Got mine yesterday .... In a single word: outstanding! You guys can buy it with eyes closed.

Great plane the rain , ice and lighting effects make it very fun to fly. Also it handles well , I found the MS F18 too sensitive but this L39 is just right.Would be nice to have a after burner version with auto pilot too, and a lower stall speed.I know that's not L39 realistic but a version with those features would be great IMO.Another suggestion would be higher resolution warning LED messages,I find they are pretty much unreadable in the normal sitting position at 60% zoom? One glitch I had, is I lost interaction in the VC after a while, cursor stayed as an arrow instead of a hand grip, not sure if that was the plane or FSX acting up.Might have been switching back and forth to the manual when it happened.Overall a very nice addon. Nice work!
