September 9, 200916 yr Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows where a person can get a payware Caravan. Can't seem to find one. Thanks for the help.Warren I am no done flying til you pry the joystick out of my cold dead hands
September 9, 200916 yr Yeah, I have wondered this, too, and couldn't find one either. I would settle for a better-flying default if I had to. It seems really twitchy and unstable. I couldn't wait to ditch it in African Airstrip Adventures in favor of the Bush Hawk and Twin Otter.
September 10, 200916 yr As far as I know the only payware Caravan that I have seen is the Friendly Panels Caravan available at fspilotshop.com or simmarket. If you want something better, faster, funner, and 'sexier' (yes, I went there...), then get your self the Quest Kodiak by Lionheart. It is a direct descendant of the Caravan (minus it being built by Cessna), except it is made for more STOL operations. Buy it now from here:http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Kodiak.htmlHighly recommended! September 10, 200916 yr I'm not a "plane person", but I did buy the Kodiak and can recommend it as a great ride for those short, remote fields sitting up on the side of some lost mountain. Available through the Flight1 purchasing system, so it's a no-risk venture to try it out and see if you like it or not. I believe people will.
September 10, 200916 yr I never asked the question yet, but wonder if any has ported the old Caravan from FS9 to FSX? Keith Guillory
September 10, 200916 yr There is a Caravan in FSX and it is nicer than the FS9 one. The VC isn't half bad.How is the Kodiak on FPS - of course, on a dinosaur rig like mine? The VC isn't half bad.How is the Kodiak on FPS - of course, on a dinosaur rig like mine?Hi Jeff,I am currently using the Caravan that comes with FSX with a replacement 2D panel. I need to try and adjust the viewpoints. Even with the VC when panning to the side windows the viewpoints are so high that I only see the top of the doors, but when I lower my view the instrument panel blocks most of my view over the nose of the aircraft. I am still trying to match these views with each other. The other issue I am working on overcoming is using the passenger version with windows for simulating freight carriers such as FedEx or DHL. I was curious to see if anyone had the old Feelthere Caravan for FS9 and moved it over to FSX and what issues they might have with it.Thanks Keith Guillory
September 10, 200916 yr The feelthere was only for fs9. Too bad, you'd think it could easily be moved to FSX and sold. I really want a good quality 'van. Plus having a Super Cargomaster to fly around would also be great!

I thought my post was a little captain obvious when I was typing it.Any know about the Kodiaks FPS? September 10, 200916 yr Any know about the Kodiaks FPS?If you check the Kodiak site (http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Kodiak.html) you'll see a separate and optional package of textures for the more seasoned computer system. Whether those would allow an acceptable level of performance is something I can't comment on. I have another computer with similar specs as your's, but the graphics card is a little older. Haven't tried the Kodiak on that system, as I really just use it to test installers and stuff like that.If you purchase through the Flight1 system you have up to 30 days to see if the plane works OK or not.
September 10, 200916 yr Ah, sorry. It looks like I missed something in this thread. I thought my post was a little captain obvious when I was typing it.Any know about the Kodiaks FPS?I don't notice any framerate impact from the Kodiak whatsoever. The planes from Lionheart are known for being FPS friendly, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.Like stated above, if you purchase it with the Flight1 purchase system you can ask for a refund on your purchase (processed within 1-2 days) if you aren't getting the FPS that you like. September 11, 200916 yr Here you gohttp://metzgergva.de/default_e.htm Thank you! This makes the default Caravan flyable.

I thought my post was a little captain obvious when I was typing it.Any know about the Kodiaks FPS?When I bought the Kodiak I was using it on a 2.5GHz AMD system with the HD4650 and it performed quite well. Now that I've moved into the world of i7 there's not even a question about it. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
