Has anyone corrected any FMAI models? I've tried the 220039000E0090 string and it just ends up making the model invisible. I've tried this on the Dornier 228 and the avrojets.thanks

You are awesome RJ - thanks! It's a lot of work doing this but the rewards are tremendous - the night airport environment is absolutely transformed... You have really contributed an enormous amount - both in your original research as well as providing us "slower folks" with the HEX information to make specific changes. I have managed to do a few by myself and as soon as I'm convinced I haven't screwed anything up I will post what I've done...

OK, here's my first contribution to the list. As retro as it may seem, I don't think any lover of aviation is going to object to us bringing the Concorde back into service. I am using HexWorkshop 6.6 - freeware and works like a charm and very easy to use.There is an excellent AI Concorde available on AVSIM - produced by ARNZ using their "built in active scenery. You will have animated baggage loading, catering truck, fuel truck and when departure time comes, a pushback tug. (search for aisaicon.zip)To remove the triangle effect find: (FIRST BACK UP YOUR MODEL FILE! It's really easy to screw it up)220039000CRemove the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 11th occurences and replace with 220000000C (Usual deal - you are removing the 39 and substituting 00)If you remove the third occurence you will lose the tail and built in scenery. If you remove the 10th you will lose the tail in the lowest two LOD levels If you still have the triangle effect after you zoom out, you may have to fiddle a bit with those last three occurences but what I've written above seems to work fine.Took forever but the next one should have a smaller learning curve.BTW, I have fouund RJ's observation about GMax aircraft absolutely reliable so far. Back up your stuff just in case, but so far I have found that with many models, replacing 220039000E0090 with 220000000E0090 works like a charm. If the HexWorkshop editor accepts it, then the problem is solved. Occasionally you will get a message saying that it is not a valid string and that means you'll have to try the full method. But I can say that so far in my attempts, it has worked most of the time and has done no harm to any models by trying it. (I am working my way through all the MAIW models - no problems to report - and have done all my WoAI models. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MAKES!!!!CheersIan

This may seem like an old thread, but the technique developed here revolutionized my experience of AI in the sim - at night and in fog. Since then, many new AI models have appeared so I wondered if anyone has any new fixes they would be willing to share? And for those of you who missed this, it is worth reading the last couple of pages and giving it a go. Yes, it is an ENORMOUS task if you have a lot of AI. But you will not regret it as the results really do make a huge difference to the realism of night and bad weather ops
