AS A320 - Just bought - Wow, this is really good

Featured Replies

Once the advanced version becomes available, i'm buying. Always wanted a 'bus with all the bells and whistles. My first was a huge disapointment-a310-hopefuly this will be the one. Thanks for the reviews.
Me too. I bleed more Boeing then Airbus, but "...a 'bus with all the bells and whistles..." will be nice. I really want the advanced features. If the Basic package is good, then the added complexity of the Advanced will be even better.I have a suspicion that there will be an upgrade path down the road for us, once AirSimmer gets itself on its feet after this initial release. I'm not seeing the lack of an upgrade path a big deterrent to purchasing, but more of the experience of being an early adopter.

This A320 seems to be an interesting development. I am usually an FSX simmer but have FS9 on my system as well. Can someone tell me what the sounds are like? Thanks, Bruce.

The sounds are quite nice for this package.

Thanks for the info on the sounds- listened to the video, it's worth getting for the sounds alone! I will also look for the other sounds by this author in the library- thanks.Bruce.

Yes, Mike Maarse is the author of the sounds.But...He made a completely new soundset for Airsimmer.

Hi, I'm also using CH Pro pedals. Bear in mind that my FS9 install is absolutely fresh and I calibrated before even installing and using the AS A320, but no issues here with toe brakes. The ground wheel steering (by rudder pedals) was a little over-sensitive at first, so reduced that but otherwise all controls are working great. (Except Flaps, which don't work via Axis, just buttons).

That brings back fond memories! I too used to use Mike Maarse' freeware CFM sounds from the AVSIM file library (Condor Soundworks I think he used to brand it as), in the PSS Airbus Pro.He's an unsung genius of sounds in FS.

David, do you have FSUIPC by Pete Dowson running on your system? There are issues apparently with toe braking and the autobrake system in general...Would be interested to know if you have FSUIPC in the registered or unregistered variant...Andrew

Andrew Entwistle

I have the registered version of FSUIPC and find no problems with the toe brakes and autobraking. Never have and especially today not currently experiencing any problems...

Hi Andrew,Yes I do now have FSUIPC (lates FS9 veriosn; 3.93) installed in FS9, with only other add-ons being Airsimmer A320, Cielosi Instant Enhancer, and FS Global. No issues with toe brakes. I am not using FSUIPC for calibration of the toe brakes axis, just using standard FS assignment.Cheers

CH has a nice utility for calibrating their devices. Without it the devices don't work properly...

Hey David I've consistently not gotten any CTD's today when I load up a flight with the default Cessna first, shut everything off including the master battery switch then load up the AS A320 and go flying...
Les, I enjoyed reading that so much I wanted to quote it! Every complex addon maker says this is what we should do, and here's is the proof it's not cow poo - thank you, and I'm pleased to hear you're enjoying the bus now.
