PMDG 737 NGX: The View Forward

Featured Replies

Beta for us is largely feature complete and just fixing bugs basically. Alpha means the product is still being actively developed but we're testing at the same time internally to make sure things are coming together the way they should. We are not in beta yet, there will be an announcement when that happens for sure.
OK Thansk is that on other developers too?

No, some rascals will let the customer do the beta testing for them. Ugh!

i dont like HUD because in Feature it wil replace the PFD im sure the HUD displays not so much informations for me it not shows AOA like PFD i like PFD more.it gives more information, and why is HUD so helpful?
On the first page of this thread and on the first 3 screenshots you have AOA above the HSI line and between the G/S and FD indication, the arc with a needle and 4,2 right next to it on the first image is the AOA indication. The simple fact is in swedens AIP it often states that on the runways that is CAT II/III and the airport is in LVP that planes with HUD often get clearence to land with lower RVR than those that don't have HUD. Like it was this winter with almost 6 month of LVP (cloud celling of 300ft and RVR of 300-500m with heavy snow) every day at every big airport having HUD is "money" :( and you also need to take-off in this weather which makes HUD useful when you track the LOC down the runway :( For reference to the RVR length above is the length of standard calvert approach lights (standard in sweden) which is 900mAs far as I know every SAS 737NG has HUD as standard equipment.Hope this explaines why a HUD on a civil airliner is a thing to dream about,Daniel

waht means LVP?Can PFD not display the informations of HUD?

LVP = Low Visibility Procedure (regulations for a airport when the RVR goes below a predetermed range= when it is impossible to see anything)RVR = Runway Visual Range in metersThe HUD shows all importand information from both the PFD and the ND and at the same time the pilot see what is infront of the plane

Daniel Groth

Yea but does PFD not give all Informations that HUD gives?oh yeah PMDG team will we able to Popup the gauges like PFD,ND etc. and that multiples times like PFD and ND in the PDMG MD-11 I only can popup one gauge :-(

Yes the PFD shows the same as the HUD, but this is simulation of the real world so when flying a cat I approach the pilot fly head-down until the runway is visible (often when the plane comes below the clouds and on G/S) after that it is a visual (head-up) approach with help from the PFD. When it is ILS II/III and if in realy poor conditions then you dont see the TDZ when you pass the THL and at the same time the pilot in command must verify that what ever system that flies the plane fallow the correct ILS path and must have a visual indication of the runway before he lands the plane at around 140kt. Therefore it takes to long time to shift view between head-down and head-up until the pilot see something so the solution is to always fly head-up with a HUD :(

Does anyone remember the website someone brought up some days ago that was portuguese, I think, that had all of the NGX pictures that are on this forum, but in one place?

NGX Project cancelled, so they can concentrate on the new Supersonic Paper Airplane X (SPAX) project:-)
This is thrilling news, I have long awaited someone modeling such a fine aircraft for FS. There have, without doubt, been more paper aeroplanes produced than 737s, so it is a popular choice. But so many questions: Is the paperclip weight on the nose going to be part of the VC? Will it be Foolscap, or A4? Narrow feint ruled paper with a margin, or plain 120 g/sm Conqueror? Most importantly, will there be a paint kit so that we can create different coloured paper choices?Al

Oh ok.But personally i can fly without HUD.In simulator HUD is very good.In realife i wouldnt need it.Because we can look outside and at the PFD same time.like i can see my House and the ground :( But in Sim with Trackir it would be easy like in real life Too.

Because we can look outside and at the PFD same time.
That's the point though - the reason for having a HUD is that you CANNOT look outside and at the PFD at the same time, unless the PFD is superimposed on your view out the window, which is what the HUD offers - it's not possible to move your eyes between the PFD and the outside world fast enough to be safe in such low visibility.

why not?it takes some miliseconds too lok from PFD to outside sight with your EYES!you dont must move head up and down
