February 28, 201016 yr So people, already some opinions on how good it is? I always postponed getting a good weather program, believing it's not high priority. However, after doing a flight yesterday from ULLI to UUDD and subsequently coming from clear skies suddenly into a violent snow storm with terrible visibility, I think I've had enough of default weather... February 28, 201016 yr I'm a little confused.ASX is $30 at PC Aviator. As a past 6.5 user I can get an upgrade price. Which one should I get? Evolution? or Advanced? This is for an FSX platform.By the way, this is one of the reasons why I always check both forums. You always find useful information on both.Thanks. MSFS

If the upgrade cost is the same go for ASE. If ASA is cheaper, go for ASA and then get the free upgrade to ASE...Just my .02,-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 28, 201016 yr Bit of a marketing gimmick really when ASE is really just a service pack for ASA. Either way, hoping this finally sees an end to all those cumulus layers at FL350+. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson

Either way, hoping this finally sees an end to all those cumulus layers at FL350+.So far it has produced a much better experience for me that ASA. I agree, bit of a marketing gimmick but a good one if existing users get the free upgrade and new users hear the word of mouth that it is much improved and seems to have finally tackled the nagging issues of ASA...So I say good on them and thank you,-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 28, 201016 yr Clum,Some of the underlying systems were re-programmed from scratch much like when we start to develop a new program. And there have been no reports so far of high level clouds where they don't belong.

March 2, 201016 yr Awesome... thanks Paul for the heads up. --------------------------------------Cheers,
March 2, 201016 yr I downloaded and tried to install the update from ASA SP1, and it cannot find my ASA installation path. I do have ASA SP1 (Build 433) installed, and it works perfectly. Can I just uninstall ASA and install the full version of ASE (since the download page claims the ASA key works on ASE), or do I absolutely need to try uninstalling and reinstalling ASA to use the updater? Declared weather: FSX: ASN / FS9: ASE

ASE needs key files from ASA, that is in the readme and Jim has stated it as well. I suggest go and get the latest ASA update again. Re-install it and then try to reinstall ASE after that...Otherwise try the HiFi forum and Jim and Damian will get you all straightened out.-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 3, 201016 yr Absolutely don't uninstall...I too have downloaded my free "upgrade", it's called ASE-Full-B566. Why would that need an ASA installation? I can understand some may want to upgrade to keep settings and stuff, which would need existing files. But in my case, I'm still using AS6.5, surely I can just install ASE, provide my ASA license key and that's it. Mike...

If you used the full download, then ASA can be uninstalled. Thanks,JimSo you guys are right, if you download the FULL version it is ok to uninstall if using the upgrade version you must have ASA installed...Sorry again,-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
