April 8, 201016 yr Commercial Member I sincerely hope you are asked to consult for PMDG, MS, or some other FS related group (or at least recognized and rewarded with some free goodies). We've already extended an invitation for him to join the NGX technical review team and he's got some PMDG aircraft to go with his Level-D now. :( Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 8, 201016 yr *******, I just want to confirm that you say that with the GTX 480 I will be able to use BP=0 and start using nhancer and vsync again, I love what you have done with this bp=0 stuff but I want to have my cake and eat it to :( . I just built a new i7 975 build but have a gtx 260 from an old machine in it, I have used nvidia all my life and am a little hesitant about going the ati route. But if the gtx 480 would enable me to use nhancer and vsync again Im going to get one aswell.Im running with the new tweeks just fine on my 260 superclocked edition. Jim Wenham
April 8, 201016 yr *******,In the BP-0 thread I notice one of your entries was not included, is it no longer required:[GRAPHICS]STALE_BUFFER_THRESHOLD=2147483647http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...t&p=1747285Looking forward to hearing from you.Regards, \Robert Hamlich/
April 8, 201016 yr I have not been following this new tweak until just the last couple of days and from reading through things I'm wondering if it's worth trying for me? I just finished reinstalling FSX plus all my addons including the new Orbx PNW and numerous add on Ai aircraft. It was a beating....it's taken 3 solid days. I am running a dual boot system with Windows 7 as the main OS and Windows XP 64 bit as the OS running FSX. FSX itself is on its own hard drive. Before reinstalling I had tried running FSX in Windows 7 but I was experiencing sudden black screens where the sim was still running but all was black and I would crash into the ground. I decided to go back to XP64 for this reason. Anyway, it seems these new tweaks are designed for the newer OS's so that's one reason I am wondering if this will help me any?I didn't have many problems in XP64 other than some occasional heavy stuttering in certain spots, green solid textures that would eventually load around airports, some blurry textures especially in high scenery areas, and black boxes around lights and AI aircraft until they eventually loaded. Is this going to be helped here?I have a Q6600 processor overclocked to 3.4 GHz, a GTX 260 Video Card, and 4 GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM. I also have another 4 GB of the same RAM that I can add back in. I have been using NHancer and NickN's OS and FSX settings. I realize that I will have to give up on Nhancer. I Am wondering with these specs and issues I would like to fix should I benefit from these latest tweaks or are they for the newer CPUs and Video Cards?BrandonI know this was kinda a long explaination but do you have any answer to this?Brandon
April 8, 201016 yr Author In the BP-0 thread I notice one of your entries was not included, is it no longer required:If a particular line is not included, its because we were not 100% certain OR we don't have the technical evidence to support the claim of what that particular tweak is doing. You'll see only things included that we are 110% sure. but there are MANY others still under investigation, so that post will be updated regularly.Right now, without any doubt, I can tell you the single most important one is HIGHMEMFIX=1 because it fixes a BUG! so that particular tweak should be used by everyone.I know this was kinda a long explaination but do you have any answer to this?BrandonThey work fine their not OS dependent, even the HIGHMEMFIX can be used with XP, but XP is not succeptible to texture corruption because it uses WDXP instead WDDM (those are driver framework models)

I changed the AA to 4x multisampling, set AF to 8x, VSYNC on, and prerender limit to 1. Here is what I have done in total:I am using nHancer with all of NickN's suggested settings, except that I am running 4x multisampling AA and 8x Anisotropic filtering, and the prerender limit is set to "1". April 8, 201016 yr I started off with all of *******' suggestions and I ended up changing a couple things. Before the recent revelations, I was flying with two monitors, Nhancer to Nick's settings and was getting disappearing textures but good perfomance and graphics . Then I went to all of *******' setting. I didn't have anymore texture corruption but I didn't like the look of the sim. I kept *******' settings, went back to Nhancer and applied all settings except vsync - I left that off. Still no texture corruption but poor FPS. I kept everything the same but added FPS Limiter. No texture corruptions but still poor fps.I just bit the bullet and unhooked the second monitor - beautiful, smooth flight that was visually appealing without texture corruption. I flew from KSEA with PNW in the QW757 to FSDT's PHNL w/MS Oahu. I switched views, used the menus, sped up the time to 16x, applied one of the FTX heavy weather scenarios, had 100% AI, 20% cars... I really tried to throw a lot at the sim but it performed quite well.I have to test a lot more but that second monitor may have been making a big contribution to my headaches. I really didn't want to have to unplug it for every flight but if it works, it is worth it. I really wasn't using it much in the sim anyway - I'd just throw some pop up panels or the atc window on there for quick access. I use it a lot for every day tasks. Now maybe I can give the ENBmod a try again:)Thank you *******. April 8, 201016 yr If you wan't to be 100% sure, I can report back once I get mine and I'll make a post on the forum for others to see. I can download nHancer, install it, enable vSync, up the resolution and try to kill the card.. lets way next week ;)Oops!I've canceled my order and will also wait for your and other reviews of the 480. I guess I misundrerstood your information:... because YOU WILL be able to run all your IQ mod's with no adverse impact even with BP=0I guess it would read "...because, MAYBE, you will be able to..."Keep the good advice and tweaks rolling!
April 8, 201016 yr It's been a very good thread but one thing I couldn't figure out in the guide, if you set frames unlimited in FSX, but use the external frame limiter is the TBM setting ignored in that situation? I assume the answer is yes but just want to make sure.scott s..
