Your GTX 285 is also considered now 'OLD' in hardware years, go get a 400 series so you can join the club so you don't need to read old guides anymore. Join the revolution :) it's a fact! you'll see 100% of people with the 400 series having 100% success with BP=0.

Well my CPU is a lot older :( The GTX480 aren't available at here in Sweden yet. I'll maybe wait for the 485. Haven't decided yet. Will propably go for a i7 980 at the same time.EDITED: Updated BIOS to the latest version, which support the i7 980. Just to be prepared :(

Old tweaks are simply, OLD.BP=0 is simply a revelation. I don't know how I flew without it. Now that I think of it, I wasn't really enjoying what I had.To be able to fly in NYC with bad weather, at night, with lots of traffic, rain, and very dense AG with silky smooth flying is just amazing. Before, BP=0, new tweaks, and the new nvidia 197.45 driver, FSX was a slide show in the example above.I don't even see shimmering scenery anymore. I've never seen such sharp textures and beautiful colors. I have never seen an overcast layer in FSX. Now I do!For anyone who ever wanted to fly in and out of clouds, in the mountains, with bad weather and with the speed of an L-39, simply try using the guide and latest drivers.You will be amazed. Nobody is forcing you at gun-point to even read ONE *******/Bojote O.P.I for one have had a MAJOR FSX usage improvement from ******* as the O.P. author of a thread. I have tried BP=0 and for my WANTING to max out FSX for I.Q., could not use a setting of '0', but can use BP=500000 or BP=1000000 with only a very SLIGHT drop in smoothness as seen with BP=0. No artifacts with 50000 or 1000000 on my system. All the other tweaks worked as he posted them. Fabulously so. I simply don't understand why one would come into the forum with sarcasm painted over-top their post. You COULD have merely said that you tried some, or all of his tweaks, and they didn't work out for YOUR particular application. Why do some need to swath things with sarcasm or vitriolic? 'Some' or perhaps they are all the same person?For what gain? thats an interesting question :) 'who' would want to make my suggestions to improve FSX performance look 'bad' or not valid? am I busting someones ego? and yes... it eludes me too. But I got used to this already.

Sure do...and with what tweaks were out there..at that time, that was the 'view'...lol. But that is then, and this is a post-Bojote era, Run with the times, or get RUN OVER by the crowd coming up on your '6'... :( Seriously, *******'s tweaks opened up my rig to even more and greater potential with FSX. Well...combinations change, morph, some work together, some found to exceed or hinder, things evolve in this forum not by the hour, but by the minute. I adjust to the forum information available.About my frame rates....I'm just shy of 1000 FPS at the present...actually 999.75. It's frustrating to me that I can't tweak that final .25..... If I drop all sliders to mid...I find the FPS meter spins so fast...that the 730x needs clearance for take-off from the desk.... :( ....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........*******, (back to O.P. topic, as it should be...) I'll keep reading up on how you fare with your new toy. I do find though that the 285 pumps out steady-eddy 30's with the frame lock, and all your tweaks stable; BP=500000. I'm glad for once, that I don't feel the 'need for more speed' with having the 285 onboard. I might bite for three full product update cycles though. When I do, I'll look forward to adding your BP=0 to the mix. Good stuff!Mitch

'us' meaning? you seem to be the only one needing 'convincing' so, I suggest you 'try' them yourself, then come back with 'real' questions....
