Carenado F33A Bonanza released

As for the question who tests these things?-I have the same question not only of the beta testers but of those who immediately fault the fm.Do all the above have experience with the real aircraft?I ask not to be rude, but I couldn't possibly acertain all of what is right or wrong with the fm of this airplane in one days time-and I have quite a bit of experience with the real bird. I haven't found a perfect fm for any aircraft that I am familiar with in fs yet. It is a matter of finding one that is close-and sometimes as kikiwat is doing applying a few little tweaks that get it closer.I will try your changes kikiwat and see how it improves things. Right now the only thing I know for a fact is the pitch needs a little more stability. I am not even convinced the takeoff distance is wrong, and if it is it seems pretty slight.Bob-that gives me an idea for a new business-loans for flight simmers! :( Now-can you loan me some money to get started! :(

Yes, of course, but can you first provide me with the business model and any demographics pertaining to this for me to evaluate :( Are the specs posted by a manufacturer, for those which pertain, quantified at sea level? I dont know why I dont know this B) Bob

You've got experience with a different model with a (much) less powerful engine. I've spent several hours looking on various websites, talking to other bonanza pilots, forums, manuals, and other pdf's and pretty much everyone but you says that the Carenado one is wrong. Though I've not flown in one in real life, I've seen hundreds over the years and none struggled like this one after takeoff.I've seen RL takeoff figures anywhere from 1000 feet to 1500 feet. Still, that is nowhere near the 2500 feet that you get with the Carenado defaults. Surely something is wrong. The pitch stability is awful, and my tweaks help fix that, but it still seems exaggerated some. As someone said somewhere (I don't recall who), the controls feel spongy. Incorrect MOI values are making it feel too spongy. I need to spend more time working on them tonight.I hope Carenado is spending as much time as we are on a patch...

I have zero experience with a rw bonanza of any type. But I must ask - I assumed Bonanza's are fairly powerful - and the takeoff roll takes quite a long time to get above 40. Is that how it was with your debonair? I use flaps 1 notch for this model and rotate at about 80 - it's the best I can do with no wind. Granted, it's no Cirrus SR22 (I have done takeoffs in that and feel the Eaglesoft version is really close fde-wise) but it just CRAWLS on the runway for takeoff. Is this how it is???

Actually the Deb is not the only Bonanza I have flown...As for the 1000-1500 figures-that is for liftoff. Look for the figures to clear a 50 ft. obstacle...and again add a 20% fudge factor. That is closer to 2200 ft. and that is the figure you should care about.http://web.mac.com/drjanetlapp/Bonanza_Pil...nce%20Specs.pdfI was the one that mentioned the pitch was spongy and the stability needed work. I did not say it was awful though-and flying it to commercial standards takes care of a lot of that.

I couldn't even get the back wheels off the ground until 2400 feet. That is most definitely wrong.

Yes-I think I mentioned that the pull off is a little late-but not by much..Using short field takeoff at my 3da scenero I am well off before 2500' and able to clear the 50 ft. trees at vx. P.s. Until someone produces a takeoff chart (It would be nice if Caranado included it-I think they left it out)-it is pretty hard to test and verify.

Meh.... I'm just gonna fly it now... lol I've never tweaked so much of an aircraft before prior to really flying it. New GPS, new dynamic tweaks, new audio and transponder gauges lol!I wish they would just say "yep the stock dynamics are spot on," you all have control issues or something! At least then I would know its me.

Well I've changed the lightmaps around. Honestly, I wish I had a picture of the real plane....maybe I'll do some more research. But I've done a fairly quick n dirty update for the GMA340, GTX327 and GNS430W
Looks pretty good to me! :(

I wonder the same... I volunteered to beta test the Bonanza MANY times but they never accepted my help. Instead we are left to fix their problems after release. At least until they start pumping out patches...Here are my changes:[weight_and_balance]empty_weight = 2125 //2183? I forgot to save old valueempty_weight_pitch_MOI = 3500 //4100empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 4000 //4500[flight_tuning]pitch_stability =1.05 //1.0parasite_drag_scalar =0.9 //0.8elevator_effectiveness =0.9 //1.25elevator_trim_effectiveness =0.9 //1.2 Controller related, probably do not need this line edit[propeller]thrust_scalar=0.95 //0.8[Flaps.0] drag_scalar = 1.8 //2.4
The pitch changes work great!Good job!

Flies pretty nicely indeed and the cockpit feels great, especially withthe RXP avionics installed..

Geoff, you save a flight with your chosen eyepoint and then adjust the aircraft.cfg accordingly. This would be simple if the darn FS people had not mixed feet and meters in their definitions..and confused x,y,z with z,x,y..If you send me your FLT file (bpieke at gmail dot com) with the viewpoint you preferincluding moving the seat up/ down, forwards/backwards, and side to side... I'll send you back theadjustment to put in your aircraft.cfg file :(

No aircraft is perfect out of the factory. Thanks for improving this one.I did notice that the aircraft was unstable along its lateral and longitudinal axis'.Now I need help incorporating that GPS.
