April 29, 201016 yr I'm interested to hear about flight dynamics and also this custom GNS430 of theirs. The screenshots they have on the website are pretty fantastic.
April 29, 201016 yr Commercial Member I'm sad to say that, out of the box, this one's about what you'd expect from them. It looks dynamite - their best effort ever, IMO. However, it's got some glaring flight model errors. The one I'm struggling with right now is the excessive takeoff run. One thing that Carenado has shown (especially lately, with the 185) is a willingness to keep thrashing away at the FDE until it's workable. With the help of some outside experts, they got the Skywagon flying really nicely. I'm sure this will be more of the same. I am using them with success - both single and dual yoke options!Make sure you actually change the aircraft.cfg to reflect the new model.xxxedit: also not sure if it is required, BUT, I copied the no knobs folder to my bonanza/ folder with the rest of the model folders and then renamed them to something simpler.So I have:modelmodel.IImodel.noknobsmodel.noknobs2Anyway, I just slipped in the GTX327 at the bottom - it's a little small but looks better than what was there I think. And the GMA340 works perfect at the top! At night the light map is off (for the 327) but it actually looks sorta cool. The lightmap is off for the RXP Garmin as well but I can deal with it - I normally use the popup for entering information or pause Track IR.
