    News on the 757...

Who gets hurt by this? No one really (well except for maybe LevelDs reputation). Its not like they took pre-orders, charged your credit cards, and then have sat on the cash while they waddle around for five years not releasing a plane. They said they are part time, they are working on it, if you want to buy it when it comes out, buy it.
Yes there are others that do that....and they behave like AS, oops not enough S's :)

One of the more obscure games I like to play, and it releases a new version every year, one year they decided to take pre-orders, and charge the credit cards at that very moment. Usually the way they went about, and as pretty much anywhere else, you have the order on file, and charge the cards when the product actually sells. As you can imagine, lots of people were a tad upset. Mainly because when dealing with smaller outfits, there really is not a 100% guarantee the effort will be completed, the product will ever get released, and if it should cancel, you will not get your money back.Say what you want about developers motives, methods, whatever, those who do not do things in this manner, who work on a product, put up the investment out of their own time and pocket, it takes some balls to do this, and I do respect them for it. I think of that on how Fs2Crew operates, where Mr York talked about a certain version he was considering and the significant amount of money that was required for him to make it, the fellas at PMDG who are clearly rolling the dice at this point with their NGX. The folks at Level D, or JD at Radar Contact, who clearly work on their products on limited free time, taking time away from their own hobbies, families, and general R&R. It takes courage to do that, a sense of pride, confidence in that they can deliever, all things I admire.

"Quality takes time" -DShuttYes I got it and I agree. I know there is no hurry but I just wonder why LDS doesnt post screenshots? Dont get me wrong, I dont mean posting screenies everyday, but like once in month....or....in a year.

Screenshots from who? You want the devs to stop developing to show a screenshot of a flight they just haven't got time to do? That would involve even more delay. :(

Taking and posting screenshot takes about 5-10min? So delay wouldn't be huge. But never mind.

I suppose Level-D team is now dead in the water. They have another official and domestic duties so they do not care about making next FS addons. I am not sure if LD Team even exists now anymore. Basically Level-D Team developed 767 ten years ago and no other aircraft so far. I can hear some rant here and there sounding like "Level-D 767 is still the best!!!" but these are empty words in my view. The same plane being essentially portovered to fly in the next Flight Simulator versions. Yet today this path is not possible to continue anymore because LD 767 oldie looks ugly, it's graphically outdated (flat overhead in 3D cockpit!) and as contrasted to many opinions it is not bug-free product. So LD has to make brand-new aircraft on par with today's standards but as one can see their 757 project is a complete failure after five to six years of "development". Now many people move to PMDG and Capitan Sim products because, especially the latter, even if not completely bug-free and super-realistic, they look awesome and are quite advanced in the systems simulation department. I personally could not wait any longer for virtual LD 757 (it is a shame no release date was announced after so many years!) so I have decided to purchase CS 757 right now. The CS 757 patch 4.5 is on schedule so we will get some important improvements soon.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums

Is it a 757!? :(. Say what you want the 767 is still mine and many others aircraft of choice for pretty much any flight. Currently have a VRI CDU2, GoFlight MCP pro, saitek radio panel and a second screen. All working flawlessly with the 767(SDK FTW!). That, good frames, and the invaluable support forum is why i love it.

I'm actually glad LVLD keeps quiet on the 757. If they didn't and leaked info, this forum would start looking like the PMDG forum. It's like people think that because they "may" be a future customer, they have the right to demand information from the developers.Besides, I heard Level-D was moving out of the FlightSim business, and were developing highly realistic models for the next version of Farming Simulator.

+1'Some' people seem to think these developers owe them something, there seems to be a whole new genaration of simmers around now who have zero understanding of what it takes to develop a complex accurate product, and also think these guy's make millions of FS and have all the time in the world to create complex code.I've mentioned over on the PMDG forum that most of the people shouting about release date's etc are the same one's that ask a million questions when the products released because they where too busy clicking the forum refresh button and staring at aircraft pictures rather then learing how to operate the aircraft.BTW when the 757 gets released next month will it have wing views? I refuse to buy it unless it has wing views!! ;)

Well I suppose the one good thing is that if a 757 is released some day, with the new SB-based computers it may be possible to run in FSX without everyone and his brother complaining about poor frame rates. Then again, maybe the 757 will be released for Flight!scott s..

External update or any kind of update would be great.:(
