I have always found it curious, amusing, but mostly irritating that a simulation website places all of the simulation forums rather far down on the page. I am a regular follower of the FS2004 forum and for years have had to scroll down the page to find it.I was hoping that the "new" forum would have addressed that issue. Alas, I was wrong. :( My right finger gets tired from using the scroll wheel on my mouse to get to the FSX forum. I'm scared I will get carpal tunnel syndrome unless Avsim puts the FSX forum on the top.

Ok-let's see if I am understanding your postition. You don't like the fact that avsim just took a lot of trouble, time, and probably cash to upgrade this board to make it better for users for free.And now we are supposed to know which finger you have raised to toast the occasion because you think the fs2004 forum should be higher up...am I missing something? I hope so-cause I am itching to try some of the new stuff myself.

You took the words right out of my mouth: I visit two Avsim-subforums daily and OF COURSE I do that by using bookmarks that lead me directly to those forums. Why anyone whould visit the main forumpage everytime and scroll down to find his favorite forum is beyond me...Besides, even if you don't use bookmarks, most webbrowser nowadays show you the latest sites you visited as soon as you start typing the url. As soon as I start typing 'fo' the main FSX forum shows up at the top of the list and I can reach it with 'arrow down' and 'enter'. Easy as that.

"I guess you can always use your left mouse button with the pointer on the little down arrow that is on the bottom right hand side of your browser if your worried about breaking a nail. :(

I always use ctrl F and then type the name of the forum that I like to visit to ;)CheersAlexander Michael

Here is a liittle "trick" I use:My primary interest is the FS2004 forum. I use IE and on the Tools/Internet Options dialogue is a screen where you set your "home page".You can add multiple items here (each on a separate line) so IE automatically opens a tab for each. I have the following as one of the entries:http://forums1.avsim...p?showforum=263That opens the Avsim forums at the FS2004 forum and from there I can select "view New Content" if I wish to see new posts in all of the other forums.Works like a charm for me.

I simply offered my observation as to how the forums could be reorganized to emphasize flight simming in a flight simming venue. Evidently it was not taken well. I had even attempted to add a little humor in hopes of not raising the dander of staff and fellow simmers. It appears that in at least one case, I was wrong. I never said nor implied that I "don't like the fact that avsim just took a lot of trouble, time, and probably cash to upgrade this board to make it better for users for free." That is YOUR implication, not mine. I have been a long-time member and participant of avsim and it is regarded by myself as being the "best" flight simulation site out there. Nevertheless, couldn't it be "improved" a little for the user....even beyond the cosmetic?I guess you could take the stance that "I am itching to try some of the new stuff myself" (I DO know what you are implying), but were my comments really worthy of that? Life isn't so tough that we all can't share opinions (and humor) without getting our feathers so easily ruffled.To the other participants of the post: I do recognize that there are various methods to more simply find and enter your favorite sim forums....but still....wouldn't it be a little nicer if the flight sim forums were emphasized and placed near the top of the page.....just a little?gwillmotP.S. - It wasn't MY finger!
