PMDG 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter....

Featured Replies

The pmdg for fsx runs extremely bad ON MY COMPUTER. in dense airports FPS don't even reach double digits. All the recent addons for it were nice and dandy, but what we REALLY need (and i think deserve) is an optimization patch so that we could enjoy the full potential of this product (Like we did in fs9)
Fixed that for you...I have no supercomputer, but tuned jut right, i have no problem reaching 30-40fps no matter where i fly..... and it looks great

Ditto....To the guy complaining, I'm stuck on an older rig but I make due - I'm also scheduled to be a first time daddy :) It's not like losing one FS9 customer is the end of the world lol

please, Dont put words in my mouth .I do not own it.I just seen a lot of videos of the pmdg 747 and it runs very poorly on most of the those machines.
I have a lot of addons, and I would say if the 747 runs bad, most advanced planes will do the same...

So let me get this straight. You want PMDG to fix something you haven't personally experienced? That's a good one.CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:FRAPS can cut your FPS up to, but not limited to, HALF of your average FPS when recording.Maybe the videos you have watched the computers have been absolutely terrible, configured poorly, and fraps recording the video? You can resolve this by two methods. 1) Remove the idiot that purchased and configured the computer and 2) don't use fraps to benchmark or reference your setup.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Don't use youtube videos to benchmark how well a plane performs on FSX. I get a solid 17 to 22 fps in the cockpit of the 747 and maybe around 25 to 30 fps externally at. The thing with FSX is that 17fps can actually look really smooth but on other games 17fps is really choppy.
http://www.deltava.org/thread.do?id=0x16edaI'd like to see that guy get realism like that and still have a flight smooth as silk :)

FSX looks even better than that on my system (I use SceneryTechUSA, GEX, REX, A2A Shockwave lighting, and UT2) and it runs very smooth with consistent framerates in the 20-30fps range. To be fair though, my system specs are pretty high end. I will have to do some new screenshots soon that show what I mean. Hmm...sounds like a good idea to try with the 737 NGX when it is available.

Skylar, you need ENB. But dont over do it like a lot of people do on DVA topics. Like putting WAAAY too much brown to make it look real (which it doesnt) or over doing bloom.

I use John Venema of ORBX's settings, they look great and aren't overpowering.

Anyone notice? The LCF is finally up for sale. Getting closer to the NGX I believe? Whistle.gif

I actually have ENB installed, I just need to find better settings!

Been looking for this Ryan. If you can, could you post a link?In responce the rest of the thread. I too think my system runs much higher graphics wise although his isn't bad at all. UTX's method of providing street lamps never caught on with me, unless of course I was using FSX's light bloom, then it was pwetttty. It was cool concidering how long ago they implemented it, but now I'm hooked on FTX (ORBX). Look at these street lights. Can you even find them? They aren't anything like the older UTX ones and look fantastic! Of course and like I already said, UTX did great for back then and FTX just improved greatly on the concept.Look at this screenshot and look at the light poles. They are of course objects rather than just hovering dots of light.
