Long Beach Airport

Featured Replies

My congratulations go out to Shez for FINALLY addressing another SoCal airport besides LAX. I only take very short sim flights, and since I own Mega Scenery Southern California, LAX by Cloud9/FSDT, and Lindberg Field San Diego by Fly Tampa, I have yearned for scenery to be relesed for a few other airports in the locality, starting with Long Beach, which I would buy quick even if it became payware.Hey Shez, if you are reading this, please do give some thought to producing scenery for Inland Empire airports such as Ontario International, which is a short drive from my home, and maybe San Bernardino Airport, both of which have runways long enough for heavy metal landings. You is da man, Shez !

Best regards from Tony, at the helm of the flying desk.

Shez has already done KONT back in 2006. It's in the Avsim library (ont2006_194593.zip)

Good to hear about that sign, will be nice to see it in the sim. Apologies for being a bit vague about the yellow tint to the photoscenery. An old X-Plane 7 scenery for the SF Bay Area had the same issue, where the imagery had a yellow tint. Since I have the old Bluesky LGB2006 photoscenery installed under your airport, the difference in color is a lot easier to see when the new LGB airport photoscenery is layered on top. I've attached an overhead screenshot so you can better see what I'm seeing. The sim is running in the Spring season.

You know Shez, you've really enhanced southern California for a lot of us angelinos. It's so much fun to fly out of KPSP and around Mt. San Jacinto and then off to KSNA, navigating around Saddleback. It's great fun to look towards Irvine and the approach into KSNA, thinking about the Wedge and all of the great surfing a bit more west at Bolsa Chica. Now I can navigate the KLGB approach to runway 30 and remember all the times driving up the 405 and seeing a heavy magically appear over the freeway on my way home. Thanks so much Shez :)Mark

Hey Shez, Wow - you have been busy... I've been enjoying every minute of flying into KPHL lately - now this... Thanks for all the hard work and I am really looking forward to downloading it... My complements - sir - on another job well done...Regards,Scott

Wow ! This is fantastic news, Shez. I can see your scenery prodcts bringing SoCal airports to life the same way UK2000 scenery does for UK airports. Your airports are the icing on the cake, and the perfect complement to Mega Scenery Southern California. If it becomes necessary in the future to start charging for these products so as to step up the complexity, I will be one of the first in line to snag copies.

Shez,Here is a screen shot showing the approximate distance of the elevation problem I described earlier. Posted this to give you some idea, although you may already have determined this.Jim D.
Jim,I tried to find the problem but could not replicate the issue.Shez

Thanks for sharing this wonderful work. Can I ask whether it is possible to use it without the photorealistic ground outside of the airport?ThanksGhiom

The only location that the plane sits on the ground so far is in the #47 GA parking. I tried #51 and the active rwy and was already above the ground when the flight initiated in FS9. I guess I'll have to go through the tedious task of finding out which scenery is conflicting. I assume that no one else has experienced this issue. Thanks for trying Shez.Jim D.

Will be difficult because of the way the textures are cut.Shez
