November 6, 201015 yr Commercial Member I'm a little confused about the VC night lighting. I have installed SP2 (but not un-installed the QW SP1 bird first, maybe this is the issue?) The data on the web site implies that there is 2 levels of VC lighting, one a flood light, and the other a "text light". When I push the LT OVRD switch I initially get the "text lighting" which is really cool, then I get the flood lighting, I can't seem to get one without the other (and the Panel / Flood light switches don;t seem to work).Maybe I'll try un-installing and re-installing SP2 and see what that does.I agree with the above posters- this VC is really good, there's a really good amount of immersion that I haven't noticed before, and the AP seems to control that plane well in capturing speed, headings and navaids. Thanks, Bruce.Bruce,I answered you on the QW forums. November 6, 201015 yr Bruce,I answered you on the QW forums. Thanks Corey, it's working fine now, thanks again for the great product and support!Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
November 7, 201015 yr I understand that the developers have said overspeed is not an issue for most people. Unfortunately, it is for me, and remains so after SP2, which was disappointing. I spent much of the day trying to solve the issue because it really is a great airplane otherwise and obviously a labor of love. But when it decided to throttle up to 400 knots upon descent to 10,000 feet on my last flight I decided I have given it as much of a chance as time could afford. Congratulations to those for whom it works properly.
November 7, 201015 yr I do have an overspeed issue on descent but I usually descend at 2000FPM to keep up with ATC. Spoilers are definitely needed but they are usually needed in the RW. Every 757 flight I have been in includes spoilers on descent. I did get an overspeed warning in cruise but I get the same issue with a lot of other aircraft. The only aircraft I have that sticks to the speed set in the AT is the CLS MD80 - you st that thing to 250 kts and you get 250 kts.I must say, the FPS are MUCH better with SP2. Big difference! November 7, 201015 yr She certainly looks nice but on my first flight the Autopilot fell flat on its face. The VNAV and LNAV were a total disaster. The engine startup was also a bit strange- ended up having to control-e it.I can startup and fly the LDS 767 with my eyes closed so I know how the Autopilot and other systems are supposed to work. I also realize that QW's product isn't as deep as say a Level-D or PMDG product. However the things it is supposed to do didn't really work. Perhaps I need to go through the manual again to see if there are some major differences between the 757 and 767 or at least QW's implementation and other planes in my hangar...I hope to give her another try in the coming days. Maybe things will work better the second time around! Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
November 7, 201015 yr What happened when trying to start the engines? Was your APU and all the bleeds on right? Should just be able to switch the starter to ground and then flip the fuel switch on. I haven't done any fmc programming just bought the latest nav updates from navigraph for it and will try when I get home today. Agreed with the poster above this about overspeed, the plane wants to go fast, you need spoilers if descending down with a big rate
November 7, 201015 yr She certainly looks nice but on my first flight the Autopilot fell flat on its face. The VNAV and LNAV were a total disaster. What problem did you have with the AP? I've been flying this bird for months without a problem. Jay
November 7, 201015 yr I know it's a bit of a subjective question BUT...How does it compare to the CS 757?I really like the CS757, but I just have sooooo many LNAV/VNAV issues with it.If the visuals are as good the CS, I'll probably get it.Thanks Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
November 7, 201015 yr What problem did you have with the AP? I've been flying this bird for months without a problem.I guess it would be easier saying what went right... It did eventually make it to the waypoints, laterally anyways (after some convincing). It wasn't turning properly, it pretty much completely ignored the VNAV, it wouldn't follow the specified speeds, once it got to the first waypoint it started descending like crazy until I entered the cruise alt again in the FMC, it ignored the 250/10000 restriction... etc.VNAV and LNAV were both enabled. I've flown the route plenty of times with other aircraft and it worked flawlessly. Though like I said, I want to give it another try before I give up and post on the support forum. If there were something that wrong with the aircraft other people would be having the problem too. Maybe I can give it a whirl after work tonight.FPS-wise I'm getting about what I get with the CS 757, kind of disappointing. However it sounds much better and has a far superior flight model. The CS 757 flies like :( Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
November 13, 201015 yr Open the 2D EFIS Control Panel. There is a switch which allows you to toggle btwn HSI on PFD and on the ND.Can you post a screenshot? I can't find it...
November 13, 201015 yr Can you post a screenshot? I can't find it...Is this what you are looking for? Jay
November 13, 201015 yr Right, so what do I press? I don't see itThe two knobs at the top of the control panel set the range, and the display mode. The two knobs on the left side are for the EHSI below the PFD, the two knobs on the right arefor the Navigation display. To change the range on the HSI, turn the left range knob. The switch in the center is for the display buttons at the bottom. Example to display nearby Aptson the EHSI befow the PFD, move the switch to the left then press the ARPT button. To do the sameon the Navigation display move the switch to the right and press the ARPT button.Regards.Ernie.
