Is this even relevant? Do you not see my point or are you just being argumentative?I probably would have bought the PC version if I didn't get it for free with my GPU.
HW and SW tech made huge steps forward on recent years, I am just thinking about Dirt 3 for example.MS will release a game with a graphic worst than FSX ( 2006 ) and in addition it won't be a simulator but an arcade instead.I see nothing to be happy here, I just feel fooled even before having sex.
Bro, don't be so negative, it's not good for your health. You will never get #### with that attitude. The 3rd video puts the arcade theory to bed ! And the graphics are looking better then FSX !Flight can't be any worse then FSX. It only has room to improve, so cheer up !!

By any chance do you have this weeks lottery numbers to hand too?Seriously though we don't know diddly about Flight yet, apart from those teasers and the odds and ends than MS have thrown us. For me if its basically just FSX but with much better performance, so I can run it with add ons and don't require a supercomputer to do it, that'll do me fine.

+1 !!!I even dont' care if MS Flight is just an FSX "Super-SP3", as long as they fix all the issues:
  1. Run native on Win 7-64 for a 64-bit address space
  2. New multi-core sim engine
  3. Multi GPU
  4. Shader 4
  5. Fix flickering runways/taxiways in DX10
  6. Totaly identify the Add-On causing a CTD or leaking memory

... I'm quite happy with the feature-set of FSX.Cheers,- jahman.

Thats really what I was thinking too, I just didn't want to go into too much detail, so just left it with 'performance'; Basically it needs gutting and bringing upto date to embrace the technology we now have and use it to its fullest.

I guys, why don't we look more closely at what they released already......follow me here....by the way all the info I am submitting here are already in their news letter or in the vid. they released....Look at the back wheel on the plane in the last vid....what do you see....the wheel is sinking in the runway......where did we see that before......you'r right FSX..Look at the trees.....do they look oversized to you compare to the houses.....yes you'r right again....that's what we have in FSX.....Last one.....when the plane is in the air banking away from the airport.....pause the vid. and look down to the right.....the fuelling station is exactly the same as the one we have in FSX......So, if Flight was based on a new engine do you think we would see the same bugs as the one we already have in FSX.....you'r right again we would not....I have to say that the sky, clouds, and shadows look a lot better....is it REX overdrive on DX11 or just DX 11? ....now we already have FSX DX10 (I know there is some bugs) but it does look better then DX9.....now imagine FSX with a full working (bugs free) DX10....:( .To me the bottom line is this, call this Flight or FSX enhanced if you want to it's fine with me.....me I'll call Flight FSX SP3....Now this one from their FAQQ:How does Games for Windows – LIVE factor in? A:Games for Windows – LIVE introduces a new level of connectivity to virtual flight, enhancing both the social and game play experiences of the title. Content is updated virtually. You can fly solo or join an entire global flight community online. You can easily connect with and facilitate flight experiences with your friends. The addition of Games for Windows - LIVE creates an ubiquitous virtual world of flight that offers easy and engaging access to the magic of flight for all. So you "wanna" fly Flight ...well get your CC ready and get online.....now take this one....."Content is updated virtually"......you "wanna" add better scenery....CC ready...go to the virtual store and buy what you want to be added to your Flight......Do you still think FSX scenery will be compatible with Flight......:(

I agree that Flight will leverage the existing FSX code base, maybe reusing 85% of it, and the other 15% will be a new UI and integration with Live etc. It would be fiscally irresponsible for Microsoft to do otherwise. There is a Microsoft exec somewhere crunching numbers and driving the product development so that Microsoft gets the best possible return on its investment. That means keeping development costs to a minimum and maximizing sales revenue probably as you say by enabling in game purchases or a subscription based service.

Yeap! MS is not there to give money away but to cash in.....so how do you think it will work......MS is not in the scenery or plane business Shame%20On%20You.gif .....still following me here...lets say you want your plane to be on Flight (FSX SP3) .:( .........yeap..... you got it right again....... MS will cash in by hostng your stuff on their site you make money with the sale of your plane (they also get some %)....and you'r protected.....:( The answer is right below...... pay attention to this sentence.... From new game play elements and enhanced scenery and terrain to new aircraft and integrated content marketplace. MARKET PLACE is the magic word.....cross_normal.pngFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQ:What is "Microsoft Flight?" A:"Microsoft Flight" is a new PC game from Microsoft Game Studios. The new title will be available on the Games for Windows - LIVE service and will bring a new perspective to the long-standing "Flight Simulator" franchise. From new game play elements and enhanced scenery and terrain to new aircraft and integrated content marketplace, it is an entirely new breed of virtual flight. The Games for Windows - LIVE platform sets the stage for all your virtual flight needs while connecting you to a global base of users, content and endless exploration. Microsoft Flight builds off its heritage of deep, immersive simulation and is redesigned to make the experience easier for virtual fliers of all interests and skills.

For the most part, yes. Scenery developed for FSX SP2/Acceleration should be. At worst, a conversion utility might be needed for aircraft model files. Keep in mind that the hypothetical "conversion utility" was already part of the FSvNext development paradigm.

To MS and all dev. this will not make sense....follow me here....to whom will not jump in with Flight will be using FSX still = still buying FSX scenery....now let say 6 month after Flight is out you decide to use it because you tried the demo and you found out the perf. are excellent and the new scenery + plane they used look so much better then the one you'r using with FSX right now.... why in hell will the dev. make there Flight (SP3) compatible with the addons you already have?? where is the money for them and MS......How will they profit from using the same addons after MS is investing more $$$ in Flight to make it work better.....does not make sense to me and I'm sure it does not make sense to MS either......and the other advantage for the dev. is this.....their addons from the marketplace are protected in Flight (FSX SP3).....you "wanna" play you pay.....all the info is on MS Flight website....read it from a business man point of view.....I understand everybody's feeling about this new sim. and all the money invested in FSX addons but the reality = more $$$ out of our pocket with Flight....unless you want to build a rig like mine (not bragging here.....well maybe a little :( ) and run FSX with all sliders to the left..... here is a little 30 sec. vid. I made not to long ago...
720P full screen......

While I cannot dispute the logic you've presented, there are other factors that haven't been made public yet that just might yet render your conclusion false... :(

Fair enough....Give me one more chance.......Nail%20Biting.gif If what I said (backed up by MS press released and their vid) was off and everything we already have as far as addons were to be compatible.....why going true the trouble of calling it Flight....just call it FSX SP3.......and do you think MS will come back and give us a patch (FSX SP3) compatible with all addons we are running on FSX as of now just because they are nice guys and that is right after closing Aces.....Shame%20On%20You.gif I wish..... MS is a business and you are a customer....... so they have reopened FSX for one reason and one only....$$$$$The other problems for us would come from the dev., they would have to make the existing scenery compatible with Flight...DX11....or SLI.....or Multithreading....kissing :( all that $$$ goodbye ....ain't "gonna" happen and the main reason is that you have to buy your addons for Flight from the marketplace virtual store.....otherwise.they would be better off shooting themself in the foot....:( Now if you still think that all of the addons we use with FSX will be compatible with Flight I have 10 acres of land for sale 50 miles west of Boca Raton Florida....real cheap......B)
