July 22, 201114 yr They both do look awesome, but keep in mind that FSDT's is not done yet so I wouldn't necessarily make that comparison yet. My biggest thing about GSX that I love is the fact that it can be used at any airport right off the bat.Yeah... and instead of some random place or the closest lawn it's supposed to push you back onto an actual taxiway. Now how's that for luxury. Could certainly go together with the 37.EDIT: Oh, my 3000th (meaningless) post. Yipee. :( *opens a bottle of Champagne and celebrates* :(
July 22, 201114 yr Reminds me of 'Day of the living dead'.Those walk cycle are average at best, nice idea, but I'll leave that one of now......as someone mentioned earlier they look pretty aimless to me.Chris Farrell Chris Farrell
July 22, 201114 yr Moderator does this only work with ORBX? because i want the people flow to work every airport and link pleaseIf you have the time and inclination you can make PeopleFlow work at any airport you want using either a freeware object placer or a payware one like EZ Scenery from Flight1. The only thing is, as explained on the ORBX forum, if you use the PeopleFlow object library to place the people at other airports, it has to be for your own purposes and can't be shared with the community. I've considered adding it to some of my other payware airports, but after a while I actually got tired of seeing the people going around in circles and repeating the same motions over and over so I never did PeopleFlow my own airports. In fact I actually ended up disabling it at all of my ORBX airports. I though it was kind of neat at first but ended up gowning old after I saw the same movie a few times.Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

July 22, 201114 yr Commercial Member Orbx have better modelsWe always said the models in that video were preliminary, in fact, I think that one was the same character we had driving vehicles somewhere in Zurich scenery back in 2007...This one looks more like the real thing, it's a roughly 5000 polygons human, fully skinned, complete with specular/bump mapping too:Our marshaller is quite courteous and good mannered too, since he has the habit to bow to the pilot after he finish his service, before walking back to whatever place we want to when he's done, yes he could theoretically walk through the whole airport for hours, without ever repeating the same path, since he's procedurally animated.Of course, graphics can be easily improved even up to the last minute before release, what we were always concerned with it's features, graphic it's easy, but it gets old very fast without functionality... July 22, 201114 yr There are two companies that in my opinion are the leaders in making ground breaking and extremely high quality products, one would be PMDG, the other ORBX........and you can clearly see why.Intoducing PeopleFlowhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiQ8DG_Xcnk Loiterers!
July 22, 201114 yr Ethan, the reason you see the people walking in loops is because with FSX, you can only have them do a 60 second walking routine, then they repeat it. It is just the way FSX is made.Kyle

It is just the way FSX is made.mmmh...well, not really, if you *really* know how to get the most of out it, by using Simconnect + all the animation features entirely. As I've said, we can have our animated people walking through the whole airport, following paths we can decide dynamically (for example, a marshaller could walk over a whole vehicle path of any existing AFCAD), stopping when we want to if something happens in game, having him waiting while still being animated, continue walking, etc. without using any-pre programmed canned animations to walk. July 22, 201114 yr I'm really looking forward to the FSDreamTeam product. The ability to have it function in ALL FSX airports is the clincher. Alexander Alonso
