January 3, 201115 yr

Do I need a mic or only a headset and is it free?yes it is free, not a single cost, You dont need either a headset or a mic, but it helps ALOT if you have a headset with a boom mic(you can get them for 10$).the only problem with online is that you dont always get atc coverage, but when you do its as realistic as youll ever get when it comes to ATC and fs.EDIT: I noticed you have PFE now, so give that a try, but if you are intrested later in online atc go check out vatsim for the fun of it, its free and you might be exactly what you need, all real pilots(in the sim) all real ATC(in the sim) Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
January 4, 201115 yr On PFE there is no callsigns for Easyjet, Ryanair or Sri Lankan Airlines. Is there a way to get them callsigns?Pro Flight Emulator: Voice Set Expansion Packhttp://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=10754&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight%20SimulationThe description explicity states Easyjet's callsign is amongst the additional 1000-odd callsigns. I can't speak for the others, but it seems likely they are there too.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

January 4, 201115 yr Author PFE is kind of like the normal ATC but with more realistic voices. I might return this because it only has a limited number of planes and I hae to spend another £7 for the expansion pack when I'm low on budget. I thought this addon was going to come with some cabin crew announcements as well as ATC. Sorry but if this is it I think I should return it. Are there any other addons that include cabin crew announcements as well as ATC?

January 4, 201115 yr Hello,I hope you all had a merry christmas and I did too with my Call of Duty Black Ops.Anyways I have been planning a flights now that I can fly heavy, medium and small aircrafts. My air traffic is on 100% and I have nearly all of World-of-ai traffic. The problem is that I usually do IFR Clearence which the ATC approves but sometimes when I taxi another aircraft just comes out of no where and taxis through me like there was nothing there and I also have my crash effect on but it doesn't do nothing. However sometimes the ATC tells me to hold short so I don't know why that happens. Secondly when I've taxied and hols short of the runway after an aircraft takes off or lands, I try to go on the runway and takeoff but this stops me because there are like planes landing at about every 1 minute so I can't take off and I have to hold short. I don't mind it but the annoying part is you don't know when to go because the ATC just focuses on the arrivals and does not tell me when to go to on the runway to takeoff. However I was waiting about 5 minutes and got frustated so I just taxied onto the runway but as soon as I get ready an aircrafts comes and land out of no where without the ATC saying and my aircrafts then crashes. Does anyone know how can I stop this and get a much better Air Traffic control than this default one? Thank You, Hope you all have a happy new year!Do you want to fly or talk? I put my traffic low as I fly IFR all the time.
January 4, 201115 yr If you have Active Sky, there is a feature to refresh AI traffic which will clear out all traffic and allow you to proceed with ATC permission. FSUIPC may also have this feature, but I'm not sure.Jim D.

January 4, 201115 yr There is no such thing as realistic AI Traffic in FS. Compromises must be made and there are times when you need to suspend your belief system. Then and only then will you be satisfied with FS.
January 4, 201115 yr OK does FDC work with freeware aircrafts like Project Opensky and Airbus etc? For the other people I want AI traffic to be realistic thank youI don't use FDC so I can't tell you. Because the checklists I use for the VC10 is far more complex. Ask on the PFE/FDC forum.vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
January 4, 201115 yr OK does FDC work with freeware aircrafts like Project Opensky and Airbus etc? For the other people I want AI traffic to be realistic thank youProblem is that all the WOAI files at %100 is not realistic. If it was, you might not need AIsmooth. Just too much traffic for most default (an many add on) airports to handle. ATC will tell you to hold short partly based on how the airport is built. How many, and where taxi nodes are placed, and the like. As an experiment, turn down the slider and see what happens.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

WOAI like UT is build off of real world flight schedules (At least for the time they were created), Those are the only options that give you realistic levels of airline air traffic. Mytraffic and the others simulate schedules that are made up for a particular airport. So for those 100% traffic may and more likely would be too much traffic and not realistic. Conversely anything less than 100% for WOAI or UT traffic would be too little traffic and therefore not be realistic. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
January 4, 201115 yr OK does FDC work with freeware aircrafts like Project Opensky and Airbus etc? For the other people I want AI traffic to be realistic thank youFDC can be made to work with pretty much any aircraft. I've been using it for years, very nice addon. As for the whole ATC/AI thing, we overload the AI engine no matter what program we use and we have to accept that and the consequences. I keep the traffic slider at 100%, even small amounts can be too much for the AI engine, so I might as well see realistic traffic volumes on the ground.PFE is nice, but its biggest drawback is the fact that it's built around an "ancient" piece of software. My main gripe is its inability to accept a perfectly fine flightplan without messing it up, a flightplan used without problems by all other addons, created by FSBuild. I fly very little as it is, I really shouldn't have to sit down with PFE and brief it in detail.RC is great because of its simplicity, but, no ground guidance. Call me a nutcase for liking progressive taxi, but it gets me where I need to go, simple yet effective. Both programs also lack Editvoicepack-like features and for someone who's primarily interested in AI, that's a serious limitation.Default ATC is limited in altitude clearances, vectoring, etc... but it's really not all that bad. Its main advantage is that it controls user and AI, where other programs only fully control user. That's why we needed ATC/AI improvements in FSX and we still need them in Flight. Improvements or full documented SDK access. So third party addons can control user and AI and really start to solve many of our problems. In the mean time, or until RC5 gives me ground control or until PFE starts digging my flightplans, I use default ATC, with Jan Martin's AI FDE's, no increased taxi speeds, no AI Smooth nor AI Separation. (I used to do the opposite, but I'm convinced FS likes this approach better, although it may not always be better for the user...) Finally, good Afcads... AI aircraft that still manage to get in my way, fewer than you'd think, I zap out of the sky with FSUIPC's Traffic Zapper.I guess we all have our interests and preferences.:( Mike...

I understand WOAI is based on realworld scheduals. But ATC can not garrantee arrival and departure at real world times. Niether can the real world, for that matter. Depending on how long you run the sim at a time, flights may be consistantly up to 15 minutes late. Plus, unless you have corrected AFCADs, planes will not park in the right places, or at all. Default airports don't have realworld amounts of parking. There are even flights that go to airports that don't exist, and don't come with the package. If you look at the flightplans, some are witten at 1%, some at 36%, some at 91%. Built in is the abillity to tone down the number of flights.I know all this sounds like I don't like WOAI. I have nothing against it at all. But I don't use it, or any AI software but default. I have repaints for default aircraft. I usually fly around my own scenery so add on AI would not add too much anyway.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
January 5, 201115 yr its funny, in all my years of simming i never once thought to download repaints for default aircraft and just use default ai, but now im hooked to online flying, but that is a good idea.i think i just learnt to accept the fact that flight sim wasnt built to handle a gazillion ai aircraft, and i think i enjoy more now cause i accepted that.now i must be on my way to the vatsim network for some flying :) Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
