February 4, 201115 yr Check out the help (F1), Initial Screen, down the bottom, edit config.ini, start FSX with a batch file which launches your fps limiter (FPS_Limiter_0.2), and start other programs before FSX which can launch your TrackIR etc. There is another fps limiter around that only sits in your FSX folder with an ini, so no batch required: d3d_antilag101.zip.Best regards; Steve.Fantastic, I'll try that config.ini edit tonight. :)I have tried the D3D lag tool but had issues with switching between windowed and full screen, even with the render ahead option set at 0. So I went back to the java one (FPS_Limiter) which works fine. :)David
February 4, 201115 yr Commercial Member Steve,Out of interest can you prevent the program from changing the payload on the aircraft, either by default or for individual aircraft? - thinking in particular the F1 Mustang, since when I have changed the payload on that before the autopilot does not manage to follow the ILS.Also is it possible to load your own flightplan into the program rather than use one that is automatically generated ??CheersGHi, you can replace the relevant plan file in the C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10\Flight\New folder so that it stays with the flight generated, until you generate another flight. You can just go into FSX with the "X" button and run up all your favourite planners and so on, then run your flight as normal. You will get the IF weather and assessment when you complete the flight, and IF will remember your aircraft and location as if it were an IF generated flight. You can also place a flight plan in the user docs\FSX folder where they normally go and choose load plan from the FSX main pull down menu in the simulation.I will look at the loading options and get back to you. I think It is an ommision of Ideal Flight to not have the option of no load at all, I will put the option into the flight generator settings. Thanks for your support. February 4, 201115 yr Steve, you should get IF it's own forum here at here at AVSim in the Commercial Support forums. I have a feeling your software will become rather popular. :)
February 4, 201115 yr Commercial Member Perhaps you are right!Just as other flight simulators are catching up; Ideal Flight takes FSX a stage further with:Advanced flight plans, advanced weather, advanced atmospheric effects, and information overload from briefing right through to debrief. Thanks for your support!Best regards; Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 4, 201115 yr I'm thinking about your mustang problem on ILS.Are you sure it was not too heavy and needed more care with the trim to keep the AP within the limits of its control?Would not have been too heavy, I ended finding advice in the Mustang forum that said not to change the payload and it has been fine ever since .. ..G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

February 4, 201115 yr That is great... going to have more of a play with it and see how I get on !!ThanksG Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
February 4, 201115 yr With Steve's advice getting IF to use the limiter turned out be easy.I just edited the following file:C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10\Config\Config.iniAnd added my FPS Limiter path and batch file to the RunCmd line:[FSSetup]RunCmd=F:\FSX\FPS_Limiter_0.2\fsx.exe.limited.batWorks a treat! :)
February 5, 201115 yr Hi Everyone,I was on the fence with this one, as I had mentioned previously, but after following this thread I need to congratulate the developer(s) for their commitment to the product. Thanks Steve! It will be nice to get in on the bottom floor and watch this little jewel grow. I will be ready to purchase when available.Bob Officially retired

February 5, 201115 yr Thanks for your interest Bob.You might like to try the latest version:http://codelegend.com/idealflight/download/All the best;Steve.Hi Steve, I just downloaded the latest version and noticed an anomaly when upgrading my exisiting install (10jd).Let me explain. When I originally installed IF it proposed "F:\Ideal Flight 10" as the install path (my FSX is installed in "F:\FSX").However I chose "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ideal Flight 10" for my install. Now when I upgrade it says it incorrectly displays "F:\Ideal Flight 10" for my currently installed version ("Ideal Flight is currently installed in the directory:".As I can't modify the path my only recourse is to uninstall IF before installing the new version.ThanksDavid
February 5, 201115 yr Author Yeah, I know that. There is an easy solution: Delete the original exe file (and just that one!) and place the new installer in the original location. Then it works.Took me three versions to find out *g*
February 5, 201115 yr Commercial Member Once IF is installed, it mut be uninstalled before moving to another location. Was this your problem? Thanks; Steve. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
February 5, 201115 yr Once IF is installed, it mut be uninstalled before moving to another location. Was this your problem? Thanks; Steve. No, I was trying to upgrade FI from "jd" to "je" which was installed in my "custom" location (by custom I mean I specified a different location than the one proposed by FI during the original "jd" install). Basically "je" correctly detected the existing "jd" install but somehow provided an incorrect path to it.The only real way to test this is to do a fresh install using an older build to a custom location, then try and upgrade over the top with a newer build. You'll see straight away the issue!CheersDavid
