February 13, 201115 yr RIP to your old rig. Maybe you can build a new rig utilizing the new Sandybridge processors. I am in research mode for upgrading my current i7. Mike Keigley
February 16, 201115 yr Author Thanks Mike, I already have build a new system, started on it around Xmas. Decided to stick with the older but tested (and cheaper) i7 series, I never go for new tech as it tends to always be more expensive then it should be and often has faults/bugs in their first revision. Might upgrade later in the year when the heavy hitter versions of the SB comes out though. Although I do have my eye set on the new i7 990X chip that is coming out at the end of this month, according to some websites, it can manage between 5-6Ghz on just air.
