On the topic of awards, you're not going to be winning any grammatical awards in this thread! :( Geoff Balean

That was the idea. I probably should have included a different emoticon... :Big Grin:Geoff Balean

since you asked, "a award" should have been "an award." Ticky tack English rules.** Rule: use "an" before a noun beginning with a vowel as opposed to "a" before a noun beginning with a consonant, excepting, sometimes, nouns which begin with the letter y, which may, at the whim of my ruler-wielding eighth grade grammar teacher (with a incongruously uber-german name), be considered a consonant.

I've learned to always take everything you read on a message board with a grain of salt. Sometimes the most innocent jokes can sound pretty offensive if you don't know the tone in which it was meant. rolleyes.gifWhile we're at it...

It's best to avoid run-on sentences. I'm also sure you meant to say "an incongruously "Just having a little fun... Big%20Grin.gif

No idea. Most of my Danish friends place commas in all the wrong places when typing in English. In Danish, the comma placement makes sense, but in English? Nope. Haven't seen that from you yet.

I don't now the all the grammatical rules for commas in English, but a good rule of thumb is to place a comma wherever you would pause mid-sentence when speaking. Most people use too many commas, myself included.Big%20Grin.gif

This is why it is said english is the hardest lanuage to learn (don't get me started on French though). It's also why creating a computer that can "understand" it all was such a big deal (Watson).

I'm 32 years old and English is my native language. I still don't know all the rules....

I did not see the post but if he criticised the commentary I do have to say that I find it hard to listen to Chris's voice as well. Great instructional DVDs without a doubt but the commentary is definitely a big drawback for me. No offence but I usually start the DVD five minutes before the point I want to listen to just to get used to it again.Gerry

Don't you think you're overreacting a little? Chris' voice is fine. It's not like you can't hear what he's saying.
