Titles in forums with lower caps?

Featured Replies

I am not huge on etiquette, but in the forums it is bugging me that 'posters' with usually unspecified questions that are open ended are posting Titles with lower caps. I want to know if we can stop this and what do others think of this. I know I am controversial, but I think this needs addressing as I am not entirely sure of those who post with lower caps. Posts that don't have the first letter in caps should be deleted. What do you think? If it is good for the gander it is good for the goose.Daniel

i Think that If you Are concerned About this, you Have too Much time On your Hands and Should find Something more Important to Worry about.

i also think that it is rude for people to be posting while they are eating. i think if you are eating you should not be allowed to post, and if you do post while eating your post should be deleted, then added again after you are finished eating.

You know what really bugs me, people that post while sitting down. I think everyone should post while standing on their heads so that all that extra blood will flow to their heads. It might improve their thinking skills just a bit. :( :Thinking:And I am going to ask that this totally useless thread be removed.

I always wear full formal evening dress (with a white tux) when posting. Doesn't everyone??

Why not allow others to comment on it first?I feel that is unfair Jim.It is not useless. But if people like you want to 'run' these forums, I simply will start a flight-sim site where we have proper rules and allow freedom of thought, unlike you.Daniel

Easy there Daniel, your threads not getting removed, but I am moving it to Hangar Chat since it doesn't have anything to do with FS9. As for people titling topics in lower case, we're not going to add proper grammar to our moderating tasks.

Why the heck not! I for one would be banned instantly!

Cheers.Just raising the issue, that's all.I think there is more to this than meets the eye.And if people are going to 'bother' to post, they can put it grammatically. Not saying you guys should police it. Just a forum topic, ok? I just want to raise awareness. Most of the people posting with no caps seem to be those who don't mention the 'product' they are requesting 'help' for. Read between the lines.Daniel

While it would be nice if everyone could observe proper English, spelling and grammar, fact is that for many posters, English is not their primary language. On the other hand, many folks use text-speak and other short hand. These things all contribute to making some posts difficult to read. But we all know that and deal with it. We've all heard stories about kids who get to college and can't pass an English class because they only write text-speak.On the other hand, the written word is all we have here. We need to be as clear a possible. I think some arguments start because a poster did not think before-hand about how their post could be interpreted. On the other hand. Oops, I'm out of hands, so I have to stop.Bob

Maybe people post in lower caps because it's "funner" that way. :)That word is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me, can we ban the use of "funner" too?

Whose grammar. UK english grammar, US english grammar, Indian english grammar etc etc? What about posters whose first language isn't English - are they expected to be grammatically correct before they're allowed to post?

Hello,

Warning:My mother language is not english (from any part of the world !)Methink :( Avsim that should pass a spelling exam for new members to see if their spelling level is sufficient. If this is not the case .. lessons leveling will be given free by the administrator and moderators.Former members are of course exempt from this review and may continue to post messages in Esperanto sgrin.gif Regards.bye.gifGus.
