July 20, 201312 yr Hey guys back off! I am simply expressing a like or preference for a particular "flavour" of cockpit. I think the RealAir products are superb and I do not require anything "festooned with scuff marks"! In an earlier post I stated " Just my preference but I respect yours totally. Wouldn't the world be boring if we were all the same!" As Douglas pointed out we can adapt reality in FS and that is often part of the fun. Let's agree to differ but do so with grace rather than making me feel like I have committed some kind of crime. Best wishes to you all. Rob - RealAir I am one of your customers and I have purchased several of your products. In these forums I have quoted your Legacy as being the finest GA plane so far produced for FSX. I am a huge fan who simply expressed a preference on one aspect of a VC. I understand fully your reasons for providing a clean cockpit. Please don't think I am being critical. That wasn't intended. That's fine Jongreen. I appreciate you are just stating your preference. No worries. All the best, Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
July 20, 201312 yr Thank you Rob - I bet when you need to create a "weathered" cockpit then it will be a beauty! JON GREEN

Jon, I think you're taking some of the conversation too personally, but I certainly apologize if anything I said felt in any way unfriendly. No offense was intended in any way shape or form. I have a couple of well scuffed VC's that I quite like as well, notably the Milviz B55. Scott
July 20, 201312 yr Scott you are a gent and I assure you it wasn't your comments that got under my skin!

Have you tried the Sib Wings Anotov? You can almost taste the years gone by in the cockpit.

Kind wishes to you my friend.

JON By the way Scott, I have family in Colorado. Sister in law married a local! Had a great time in the Rockies last year. You are a lucky guy! JON GREEN
July 20, 201312 yr Have you tried the Sib Wings Anotov? You can almost taste the years gone by in the cockpit. The key point is what looks appropriate for a certain aircraft. An AN-2 with a perfect cockpit would be almost as ludicrous as a Turbine Duke with a scratched and worn one. Mike Mann
July 20, 201312 yr Jon, I've been on kind of a new plane hiatus lately, but the AN-2 is on my short list of planes to buy. It looks and sounds like a gem in just about every way. I do indeed consider myself lucky to live where I do. I came to Colorado in '71 from Chicago and have been here ever since. The inter-mountain west with all of its variety is both my physical and spiritual home. Lots of other places I like and enjoy visiting, but you couldn't tear me out of this region! Take care, Scott

July 20, 201312 yr You could look at it like this -- When you first get the Duke Turbine, it's in great condition, just after it's update to Turbine engines. If YOU want to "Scuff it it", you could do that yourself -- just get hold of a copy of GIMP, and find yourself a "few" Hours, to scuff it up, as much as you want, (inside & out)
July 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member Since I'm a neatnick the thought of a scuffed cockpit has little appeal for me. Suffice it to say that the RA Dukes have been given so many kudos (the only planes I fly) that they are probably still considered the best FSX GA planes out there. IOW Rob and his team did everything right with the Dukes. One has to wonder what other great projects RA has in the works. As a loyal customer I'm sure to buy whatever they put out. I would luv to add a RA VLJ to my fleet though. Regards jja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
July 20, 201312 yr tduke's vc is nice but a little sterile. what's missing is some details like screws on the panel. think some screws make a lot of difference in the look and feel of the panel, no? if there's a demand, i'll upload. July 20, 201312 yr Praise be........I'm not alone!!!! Is this a graphic file that I can use in my existing aircraft? If so then I would love to have it. JON GREEN
July 20, 201312 yr I always wondered why there were no screws, but hadn't thought too much about it until you bring it up. I haven't seen a picture of a rw Duke cockpit that didn't have visible screws, both piston and turbine. I actually like the clean, screwless look, but if the screws should be there, then they should be there. Now that you've pointed it out, maybe they'll add 'em in for the next update.
July 21, 201312 yr avionics don't just snap in. there are many screws. go to airliners.net, search for category=cockpit and keywords ='turbine duke' Praise be........I'm not alone!!!!Is this a graphic file that I can use in my existing aircraft? If so then I would love to have it. yup, texture files used in the ac. i'll see if I can upload them.
