The Hawg has saved me from N.O.S., otherwise known in the DSM IV as NGX Obsessive Disorder. Since I got my Track IR 5 and Hawg-10C simulator on Wednesday this is the first time I've glanced at this forum. I've been so busy learning to fly and fight the beautiful Hawg that I haven't even tried my Track IR in FSX!!!! There are about 10 or 11 steps to dropping a JDAM. It takes repitition to get really good at it. All that mental energy that I've been wasting picturing myself flying the WILEE ONE RNAV arrival into KAUS in a LUV NGX is now put to good use. Whenever I start feeling an episode of N.O.S coming on I strap into the Hawg and joust with some ZSU-23-4's. Flying head on with someone shooting at you while you're shooting at them with a 30 mm cannon is exhilerating. As long as you get that pipper on him and send rounds his way before he pulls the trigger he can't hit you. Outside of a mile if you're moving the jet around the sky he can't traverse his turret fast enough to track you and he gets dead. I still get a tingle when pop over on Airliners.net and see an NG from some little airline like COPA and realise it won't be long before I'll be shooting the visual approach into Tegucigalpa using the HUGS!!!!!!! It's going to be AWSOME!!! I can't wait to finally have an airplane of PMDG quality that flies such diverse routes all over the world. It just can't get any better. Then I think to myself, YES IT CAN!!!! I used to fly the Dash 8 at Mesa Airlines. When I saw that PMDG was going to give me a Dash to fly I almost freaked!!! I'm going to get to fly into KASE in the winter in a snow storm at night again!!!! And then as if that's not enough we get the big one. How awsome is it going to be making the Orlando-Atlanta run for Delta in the 777 and then taking off for Jo'burg in the same plane? Life is GOOD in sim world people. The people that complain on this forum are NUTS! I started simming in the 80's on a Comadore 64 when the games weren't in color and the other planes were just three PIXELS shaped like an upside down T. We had to use our imagination. Now we have airplanes like the PMDG JS4100 that allows you to get as close to being a regional turboprop airline pilot as you ever will without getting a license and a hire date!! Soon we'll have the NGX, Dash and 777 that give you that same experience. I wanted to fly A-10's when I was a kid but I needed glasses so I became an airline pilot instead. Now I fly the A-10 everyday. Take a step back and appreciate what we have until the NGX hits. Get yourself a dirty Hawg. It'll help, I promise!!!Hiram HuntMesa Airlines CA '99-'09Dash 8, ERJ-145, Beech 1900D, CRJ 200/700/900

Yep, Chuck Yeager on the C64 for me too :) A whole simulator on 64KB of ram! thats not even enough for the texture on a landing gear now.

Hi HiramI had exactly the same problem, I used to check this site out 3 or 4 times a day for news on the NGX, each time convinced there would be good news on its release date. My bet was on Christmas, but sadly thats now been and gone and still no sign of a release. Then I discovered the DCS A-10C beta's and it completely cured me of the NGX blues. I rarely come to this forum anymore and now I'm quite content to wait until its released, however long it takes :( Glen

Mine was Fighter Pilot on the ZX Spectrum 48k. It came with an overlay for the rubber keyboard that had about 2000 different commands :(.

How do you like the multiplayer? Are you with a virtual squadron?

I too flew the Chuck Yeager sim. I believe it was called Air Combat. About the same time I was playing Microprose's Strike Eagle. Remember that one? I also still have the original Microsoft Flight Simulator, STILL in the original box with the 5.25" floppy disk! That's probably a museum piece! I am also currently flying the DCS A-10C. Unreal!!! Couple it with the new Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and TrackIR 5 and you have no reason to ever leave the house! ;-)Terry SwindleAmerican Eagle Airlines1992-PresentATR-42/72 CA, soon-to-be ERJ 140/145 CA

Since I discovered MP I rarely fly SP. It is simply great. After some time of research I've chosen the 1stVFS - 25th squadron. http://firstfighterwing.com/joomla/We have great people, contributing with knowledge, creating extra eye candies, mission etc... And the squadron is mostly international so you might find people flying round the clock.Of course the greatest contribution is the DCS A-10 itself which was patched yesterday to bring a new level of immersion. Cheers!

The flight aim world has got a very promising year. The A-10 looks great! And look what's about to come from VRS with their TacPack addon, and there F/A-18 addon (I'm thinking bout picking this one up to fill in the waiting time for the ngx, after watching one of our new super hornets fly yesterday)However, I now have a new favorite plane, the awsome C-17 globemaster. Those things are awsome. While I didnt see one fly yesterday (I have in the past) I did get to sit in the left seat of a USAF bird, and it was Very impressive. While obviously military, some aspects reminded me of the MD-11. (Was the C-17 originally an MD bird? I believe there built in longbeach. To lazy to look it up lol) Shame there are none out there for fsx. Please some developer out there?I've got pictures of the Flight deck and can post them if anyones interested.

The C-17 is a rather impressive aircraft. I am a student pilot and I train at the Long Beach airport where they are built, so I get to see them regularly and I never tire of it. I am working on joining the Air Force Reserves and the C-17 is at the top of my desired airframe list. I too wish there was a PMDG quality C-17 for FSX, and I would pay very good money to have one.
