April 7, 201115 yr Hello there! I bought the Wilco 777, NEVER IN YOUR LIFE WASTE MONEY ON THIS NONSENSE, but now that I bought it, I have to make good use of it. I set up a small flight from LFPG to EGLL. The FMC is programed correctly and the takeoff and climb is perfect. When the plane was getting near EGLL, I checked to find the T/D on the ND. It WASN'T there! The plane flew right over EGLL! Way to ruin my flight! Well I had to manually land the bird! How can I fix this issue. I flew the same flight with the PMDG 747 and I was able to do an autoland with a T/D! Can SP1 on wilco 777 fix this issue? Please Help me out and remember, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE WILCO T7!

Please Help me out and remember, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE WILCO T7!The plane might autoland more like the default aircraft...I have to go back and load up my Wilco '77. I forgot that it might not have that feature. I thought that it had an autopilot feature, and was able to autoland. I bought the Wilco '77 thinking it might be like the PSS 777, but really disappointed about the lack of the functionality that I wanted. I give Wilco credit in that they do not hide the fact that their '77 is suppose to be good for beginners and intermediate flight sim users. I thought the FMC does the charm!
April 7, 201115 yr I am bummed to hear that you have to land this T7 with a default autoland! I thought the FMC does the charm!yeah the FMC was what really bummed me out as well. I bought it a 4 years ago now and I never reinstall it when I reinstall FSX. I really want a good triple 7 with a good FMC.Also notice how there is no wing flex in the FSX version? The FS9 version has it, but FSX doesn't. :( I had read that they just did a basic update to get it into FSX and that is all they plan to do. April 7, 201115 yr Hi I don't fly the 777 but have the 737pic from Wilco.just looked at 'Feelthere' site and yes they do state the 777 'wing flex' is for onlyfs2004.there is no mention of autoland on this version in the list.you maybe able to do a normal ILS approach by feeding in some 'waypoints' into your flightplan and line up for the ILS apr'the 737pic in not configured to land lnav and vnav (The ng version may do) but if you mangage the flap ref speeds and engage the 2nd autopilot at the correct time you can descend to touch down. (edited) so check if the 777 will.Bob
April 8, 201115 yr Uninstalled wilco 777 after a few flights. It's nice to learn the basics of the FMC, but I am actually embarrassed that I bought it.
April 8, 201115 yr When approaching t/d you need to reduce the altitude on the mpc to allow the fmc to control the decent.(from your cruise alt to say 5000', then to runway threashold later. (this is how the 737pic works so check to see if the 777 is similar)When using FMC the flight plan is controlled by the vnav and lnav ( unless of course you decide to hand fly or switch to alt and hdg on the mpc) up to the stage of aquiring the vor ils and at that point control is swithed from lnav to ils, this should be indicated on the mpc( white to green). The same with vnav if you have selected the correct appr flaps from the appr page and have them set on approach the control will switch from the vnav to GS and speed will be indicated on the mpc, app flaps + 5knts.(this switch over is also shown on the mpc) gs will change from white to green. The 777 may not have all the features but try it to see what happens. Not quite sure but I think 'Autoland' refers to landing controlled by the fmc(ie using vnav and lav). The 737 'guppy' was not but the I think the later 'NG series was.so maybe somebody will jump in and inform us of the 777?Bob
April 9, 201115 yr Maybe this might work? Retrofit the free posky 777http://www.isgsim.com/?page=panel_library⊂=retro_posky_b777

April 11, 201115 yr I can't believe you guys would waste money on these sorts of airplanes from these developers. I've only ever bought 1 wilco aircraft. That was more than enough to keep me away forever. You know where the GOOD heavies come from. You'd be better off waiting for their 777...Enjoy the Level-D 767 or PMDG's MD-11 or 747 in the meantime. They are what heavies should be. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
April 11, 201115 yr Its been said that the 777 is not 'PIC' quality, however I contend even ifa plane is sold as 'LITE' or whatever you want to call it, it should stillfunction correctly within its parameters. And, I find the Wilco 777 fails in this regard, its really too bad too, because I rather like the VC, its abit quirky but I'd fly it if the avionics worked. The biggest issue I have is that it can't track accurately in the lateral ORin the vertical, LOL. Its rather sad. In the lateral its not that it losesthe flight path altogether, but it just seems to wander off of it. In thevertical what happens is if you have VNAV selected and then get to cruisealtitude it porpoises up and down, down and up, made me seasick :( What's interesting to me is both of these seem related, kinda like its gota scheduling problem, it doesn't update or notice changes fast enough maybe??This same type thing could account for issues in ILS, although its been so longthat I no longer remember if I had problems in that area, the others trumpedany such concern anyway. This is the kind of thing that just SCREAMS for a service update, why has Wilconever done such a thing?? OH, I know, next thing we'll see 777 Evolution :( Jack F. Vogel, Delta Virtual Airlines
