April 11, 201115 yr I love flying in Vegas, and as a matter of fact, I'm going out there this coming weekend. However, when I fly the Vegas Strip low and slow, I still see George Carlin and Danny Gans Headliner boards. These 2 great comedians are currently doing their acts outside the boundaries of Earth. Is there any new Vegas Strip scenery with the way the strip looks now (hotels, etc) compared to when FSX was new?I'm sure there have been some significant changes that would be exciting to see in our beloved simulator. Thanks in advance.Stan
April 11, 201115 yr I am not 100% sure but I think that FSDreamteam KLAS includes some of the surrounding city scenery

April 11, 201115 yr Moderator Aerosoft has one they just released for FSX - http://www.aerosoft.com/Best regards,JimLike Jim mentioned there is the one by LimeSoft sold over at Aerosoft but it only has day textures, so if your planning on flying around the strip at night it wont look nice without any lighs on the buildings. I have heard they were planning to release some night textures down the road as a free update, but since I dont follow it, I am not sure if that is still the case and I wouldnt hold my breath on the night textures. There is also a freeware Las Vegas strip by Mr.Shige. Unfortunately I dont have the download link for it, but you can see some screen shots of it in somewhere in the FSDT forum. I downloaded it a while back but never got around to installing it and unfortunately I cant find the link to give you. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 11, 201115 yr For Las Vegas Aerosoft made an exception. In this case they did add night lightening to the scenery. Check it out. It's very good. Regards, Frank van der Werff

It's very good.Yes, I wouldn't have recommended it if there was no night lighting but saw they recently added it. I haven't tried it myself as the file is pretty large and I'm only tethered to the Internet through my cell phone. I will get a high speed FIOS connection tomorrow morning. Yea!Best regards,Jim
April 12, 201115 yr This is a nice freeware update from Shigeo Ishii. There is a FSX version and one if you use MegaScenery. There are also Hawaii, and Japan scenery all are first rate, especially for freeware. You will see a little higher performance hit, then the default, because of the detail, but not too bad. There is one anomaly if you use UTUSA. He modifies the Stratosphere with a new top, but because of UT's object repositioning, it ends up in mid air. (Kind of cool though, as it looks like a flying saucer hovering near by. To fix this you need to disable UT's object repositioning scenery entry, but of course that may cause other issues. I chose just to leave it alone!! The site is in Japanese with some English but it's easy to figure out.http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/index.htm Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

April 12, 201115 yr :( I have had Aerosoft KLAS since it was released. It's the best I have ever seen. :(
April 12, 201115 yr Recently released for free was a little scenery addon for Henderson Executive containing the most detailed Kenworth Truck in FS set up with its trailers "Hospitality Suite " opening up for an air show , a high detail animated mesh waitress is on hand to serve you with tents, Kiosks and other elements welcoming guests. This was put together for a Payware Acrobatic Aircraft released over the holidays and is now available for anyone looking for a great spot to start a flight around Las Vegas.
May 3, 201115 yr Bought Aerosoft Vegas. Is anyone using it with Acceleration and the FSDT KLAS?The night textures seem to be causing really low fps - like .5 FPS. Very similar to the experience with the non-updated Imagine Sim airports. Reducing the 3d buildings helps but it is still pretty slow.
