Looks great! How are the FPS though, I still noticed some 'stutters' in the 720p video? Is it possible to disable the "HUD" and the FO displays and tune the refresh rate for they 3d/2d panel gauges like with the 747/MD11?
Matthew-During the filming of both segments, I was using FRAPS for the capture. In FSX the FPS was 40+ continually, but something about the data transfer between the sim and FRAPS causes some micro-stuter that no amount of tuning would get rid of. I even tried it at my monitor's lowest resolution (80+ fps) and the video contained microstutters...I am *guessing* it has to do with the memory usage that takes place when I am simultaneously running FRAPS, FSX and Visual Studio's development suite all at the same time...Either way- don't let those worry you- the sim itself was as smooth as undisturbed air.

I don't think he even used reverse there - was demonstrating how effective the carbon brakes and SFP are.

Looks so nice PMDG! Which system is used for this demo departure? Looks really FPS friendly!
Steven-I have a "moderately" high end machine, but definitely not the top end. Currently I'm on an i7 3.2Ghz with 4GB of ram and an nVidia 460.While this looks like a monster on paper, I ask quite a bit of the machine since I run two side-by-side 30" displays at 2560x1600.Even with this incredibly high graphic demand, my FPS are fluid and exceptionally usable, but obviously I can put the sim into collapse if I work at it. FWIW: If I yank the second monitor and run just on the remaining screen, my FPS is out of sight...

Steven-For certification purposes, aircraft braking demonstrations are generally conducted without the benefit of reverse.I was comparing data on the rollout distance for the carbon brakes/short field package against the predicted book values... So- no reverse. :( )Armen is still tweaking that aspect and once he gives me the all clear we'll give you one with a full shot of reverse thrust in it.

As far as notation goes I use Sibelius 6 - it's a professional notation suite that I've been involved with for over 10 years now as a tester and stuff. http://www.sibelius.com Expensive but it's by far the best. Guitar Pro is decent, but it's not up to professional publishing level standards as far as its options and customization abilities. The application I was referring to for isolating and slowing down audio is Amazing Slow Downer - http://www.ronimusic.com - absolutely could not live without it. For recording I'm a Pro Tools 9 user.
Thanks a lot. Amazing Slow Downer looks interesting. I'd love to know if PMDG has a seperate studio or if you and Armen are working from "home", but that's pretty much irrelevant for this thread so I'll just stop asking and rewatch the new vids :-). How about PMDG giving us a video tour through the office some day, though? A lot of of gaming companies do that nowadays and it's a great way to appease your customers.

I work from home but my band's singer has a really nice project studio at his house that we use for band stuff - I mostly just do demo stuff, writing etc here with my Avid Mbox setup. He's got the full blown Pro Tools setup at his house... Armen is really the one that deserves the actual audio engineering credit on this product though - I didn't actually edit files here, that's all him.

Looking amazing, just sad I need to use 16 bit- 8000 Hz sound qualityin order to avoid the missing textures syndrome.Thank you the PMDG team for all your hard work over the last three years.Cheers, Rick

I don't know if i should cry or dance out of happiness!I can't say this often enough: PMDG; you guys just rule the virtual skies, and definitely the addon market!I was amazed by the sounds, especially at take off. There was never a 737 add on that really had those realistic whining sounds of a 737 which i was REALLY missing.I actually have a question: Since we are going to fly this bird in the cockpit, i suppose the only sounds related to FLAPS, are for the Flap levers, right? We are not going to hear the actual flaps moving into position? Also: Will it be possible to use the old MCP and Stand-by instrument types? The reason i am asking is, i am a realism junkie and have the weird problem that after each REAL flight i had, i need to jump in FS and re-fly it with the same weather conditions and all that stuff :( Is this kinda sick, or just a simmer with extended interest in flying :D

Have you tried the fsx.cfg HIGHMEMFIX=1 stuff - I thought that cured basically everyone? For what it's worth we've had ZERO reports of any skeleton aircraft issues or missing textures with the NGX - it's designed different from our older products and we think that's helping a lot.

Oh now that you say it I was also wondering about that incredible and distinctive speedbrake deploy sound... But I bet this is among the 50 yet to be implemented files...!? Big%20Grin.gif This is one of the most important sound for me anyways haha :(sig.gif
