May 24, 201115 yr Very interesting!....They sell for ~650 USD I believe..jen nouletRoberto builds a nice product for "lite" cockpit building. Keep in mind he charges the paypal fee back to you though. Shipping is from South America so factor that in as well. (Then again, shipping from France on the crated Rev Sim TQ will costs you nearly what the Throttletek costs after you factor in the additional $65 the UPS guy will hit you up for as a brokerage fee) John Skibo
June 1, 201115 yr Hello,I am looking at a good throttle for FSX. I already have a Logitech Extreme 3D pro which is I think one the best joysticks around (good resistence, not too loose like the X52 or G940 which have been using both in the past). Now I am just looking at throttles and am hesitating between the Saitek and CH products ones ?Thanks, GregI have that stick also and the saitek yoke. If I were you I would keep that stick because it is amazingly precise, you wont get that degree of precision with either CH or Saitek. That said I would get pedals and the saitek throttles.Cheers, David
June 1, 201115 yr Author Ok thanks.... I think I will get the Saitek ones.. maybe 2 sets for 4 engines aircrafts... By the way, Can I assign the 2 side throttles to Spolier and Flaps operations ? too much, too soon....
June 1, 201115 yr Ok thanks.... I think I will get the Saitek ones.. maybe 2 sets for 4 engines aircrafts... By the way, Can I assign the 2 side throttles to Spolier and Flaps operations ?Yes. You should reverse the axis though so that the flaps extend as you pull the levers down. Same for spoilers. Also, you can set reverse with FSUIPC (better) or within the sim. If you choose to set reverse from FSX, go to tge option "Decrease Throttle Quickly" in the controls menu, and assign one of the buttons throttle's reverse positions to that function. Also, be sure to set the "Repeat" slider to full. Now once you pull the throttles back into reverse the thrust reversers will engage until you push the throttles into the idle position. June 1, 201115 yr I narrowed it down to 2 throttles.1. The VRaircraft throttles for $12002. The throtletec for $695The revolution ones are really nice but too much for my budget.Any thought from someone who has them? Paul Gugliotta
June 1, 201115 yr While I don't personally own the Saitek I highly advise not to buy it. Interestingly enough you are talking about joysticks being loose or resistant (which are important properties for me as well), and I can say the Saitek, especially the quadrant, has a pronounced cheap, plastic like feel to it. You should get a grip on it in a store whenever you can and get your own opinion though. No comment on the CH as I've never touched it, unfortunately. On an off-topic comment, the best feel for a joystick is still the good old Thrustmaster... although I haven't had the chance tried it in action, just had it in my hands at the store. I know it has its issues - but the feel is far superior to anything I've ever tried. I wish they had a civilian version of the Warthog haha. How on earth can you give advice on something you have never used...?????? That's really stupid.I have used the Siatek yoke and throttle for years and I manage to manually fly an approach from 10 Nm - no AP at all - just fine. You are not going to get an accurate 100% hardware representation of a 737 or whatever for FSX - IT'S A GAME!!! What's wrong with some people here....why can't you see?Chris Farrell Chris Farrell

June 1, 201115 yr Paul, I own the VRaircraft throttle , but obviously do not own the throttletek one.If you can live with the fact that it doesn't look exactly like a 737 throttle quadrant, then you will not be disappointed. It is a little expensive (I got caught with customs at my end in Australia, which made it over 1800 bucks) but worth the money. It is a precision manufactured item, made from high quality components and works straight out of the box, with their drivers. It is so nice to have a proper response to small inputs on the throttle or speed brake. It is the perfect piece of kit for the enthusiast simmer, who doesn't count the cost of more professional hardware and wants something that will certainly outlast the run of the mill quadrants. For my money (no pun intended), it was the right choice. It is a beautiful, professional product and I hear that also from other owners.Hope this helps,Frank Cooper
June 1, 201115 yr +1 for VRthrottles. Lets see if others chime in. I called them today. They will not show up atthe AVsim conference. I would have liked to put my hands on a demo before I buy them. But your recommendation sure helps. Let's see if someone can sway me to the throttletek. Paul Gugliotta

You want to use the throttles as a rudder? If yes you need to select the throttles in FSX assignment menu befor selecting the axis, otherwise you may assign it to your yoke.Could you please show a screenshot of your assignment menu to give us a hint where the problem may be? Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
June 17, 201114 yr thx for ur reply got my key board key assigned to my rudder now was used to my other joystick :) control that control the rudders. Now to sort out my sensitive throttle lever trying to get it right that the only thing now i got to get working now any ideas I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
June 17, 201114 yr I have both CH and Saitek. While I like the Saitek yoke, it is my experience that the throttles do not work as good as the ones by CH. Robert Yunque
June 18, 201114 yr I've had my Saitek X52 since 2006. No problems at all, and the accuracy is still spot on. I opened it and added about 100 pennies to each, in order to increase weight. That was actually the biggest issue, was that they were not weighed down enough. They are more than heavy enough now. :( Their Eclipse keyboard on the other hand sucks a**. Buying a mechanical keyboard soon. Gonna get myself a new x52, not because its broken, but because I want a new one... :(
