May 23, 201115 yr Greetings all,Once the NGX is actually released, what parts of the sim are you most interested in trying out? I'm refering to specific items, like certain approaches, failures, flying in different scenarios, things like that. Ron Priever
May 23, 201115 yr Well I will depart BFI and do the basics to get a feel for the aircraft and return after about a hour or so. The next flight I'll work on failures and procedures out of BFI and then return. Lastly take it to my home airport MDW. May 24, 201115 yr The first flight will be to Tampa (flyTampa scenery) to see the performance of the 737. (and to recruit some flight attendents from some of Dale Mabry's infamous clubs). I like to test out the HUD in a rain storm and check out the braking, taxing, external views - and oh 1000 other thingies. Then back to KLGA with full fuel to see how it handles heavy - with an arrival using the Expressway visual 31 approach. May 24, 201115 yr Take-off from RNT, point the flight path vector on the HGS at Mt. Rainier and watch the pretty colors light up on the navigation display.
May 24, 201115 yr Learning all the overhead panel/systems. Switch off/remove power and get out my chief pilots set then go through systems by adding battery power/apu and seeing how all reacts ect. Jeff Blyth MD11 J41 747 NGX . . awaiting 777 !!!
May 24, 201115 yr Just do my usual acceptance, and check flight up in Washington. Then fly her back to Florida. Doing the checks means I will basically be checking all system redundancy and all. So shouldn't leave any stone unturned. Look forward to seeing how the systems come on and off line since Robert and team have been working on them. Particularly the electrics as that has been their focus.. Wonder if the power surges when powering generators on/off (not sure if the 737 does this. I just know what I see working on my own aircraft at work). Steve Jordan Aviation Structural Mechanic SH-60B/HH-60H/MH-60R/MH-60S USN FSX Hours: 3000 and counting
May 24, 201115 yr I'm looking for a NG that supports IRS quick aligns. And has a collimated, flyable HGS. As well as a thousand other things. Joe Sherrill
May 24, 201115 yr I'll do a flight test with the -800, like the airlines do before delivery flight, which will take place at KBFI. A guy in another thread suggested this website, which has a check flight schedule for a lot of different airplane models. I've already printed the 27 pages of the CFS-300 and I'm already training the test routine with the default -800. To make it more realistic, although it may seem a little stupid, I'll also record the parameters asked for the schedule at each phase of the test. Of course that in my first contact, I'll explore the features of the plane, especially the FMS. I'll take a look at the 2D, the exterior model and the VC, obviously. I'll also take some time to read the manuals. Let's face it: with so many features, we'll never be able to learn everything by ourselves. Matheus Mafra
May 24, 201115 yr I going to dig deep into the FMC and autopilot systems, then the overhead panel and lastly landings, but what I'm really interested in is that wing bounce, such as while taxing. May 24, 201115 yr I'll probably fly KLAS-KLAX for my first flight. I have flown that route a million times with all my planes so I'm really familiar with it and that I can spend my energy on the plane itself instead of the route Johan Pettersen
May 24, 201115 yr All the options and stuff that they've put in the FMC will probably be my first look. Can't wait to see everything we get to play with. As far as flying goes, definitely the HUD. Can't wait to hand fly an approach using that.
May 24, 201115 yr I'm keeping it on the apron until i know every switch and every function and how it operates:) then i go up and do some stalls, practice landing, and push the limits of the aircraft and FS... then i go pro with SWAVA :D KeViN gALLoWaY Ualva.org UAL169 Fdxva.net FDX798 Upsvac.com UPS821 SWAvirtual.com SWA2359 Verazanovirtual.com VER072
May 24, 201115 yr Sit at the Tarmac at YBCS and play around with the FMC and play around with the engines. Then have a flight toSit at the Tarmac at YBCS and play around with the FMC and play around with the engines. Then have a few flights to YBTL and back testing out the A/P etc, can't wait!
