PMDG wants to get this sim out for sale just as much as we are "chopping at the bit" to buy it. Nobody wants to see it released until it has the PMDG stamp of approval. If it doesn't have that "stamp", then it wouldn't be PMDG quality and wouldn't be the sim we want.I seem to remember this same kind of dis-satisfaction and pressure put on Airsimmer and they finally released a pre-mature product to a limited group of buyers, that was pleagued with bugs and faults and they were nailed to the cross (as it turned out, rightfully so).Face it, we will not be satisfied with a pre-mature NGX, so let's trust PMDG and believe them when they say that it will be released when it is ready and has the PMDG stamp of approval as a product that they are proud of and one that we will be blown away with.:(

We're still on track as far as I know - nothing for sure until tomorrow though.

This will happen LATE tonight US Pacific time if it does happen. We are on no one's rigid schedule here, today/tonight is our target, but if it's not ready, it won't happen, period.

And if not tonight, there is always tomorrow!

Funny coincidence. Looks like two neat jets are hitting significant testing milestones this week. In addition to the 737NGX (fingers crossed) Boeing announced today that the 787 has begun the final phase of flight tests prior to delivery. The airplane is undergoing "Function & Reliability (F&R) testing and extended operations (ETOPS) demonstrations. According to Boeing, function and reliability testing "simulates various normal and non-normal operations for the airplane, in a realistic airline-like flight environment." And the ETOPS demos validates the airplane's ability to safely divert for a variety of reasons, including long diversions with one engine shut down, according to a Boeing news release. If testing goes well, the first 787 will be delivered to ANA in August or September.

Cheers,

Bruce Campion-Smith

Why are people so excited about this and treating it almost like it's going to be released tonight? I mean, I'm glad it might possibly move into a new beta phase tonight, but people should keep things in perspective.
