I am guessing that Microsoft didn't want to sink the sales of Flight by offering backwards compatibility.Regards, Mike Mann
But there will be a 'raft' of improvements, upon which to launch the thing, doubtless on a wave of publicity.Al

If it's real then Flight lighting is looking very nice!

Ahh, maybe this is the DirectX 11 equivalent to the DX10 pic from last time. Just the fact that they would use have this picture around makes me less excited about Flight. Still hoping for a miracle.

What is strange to me is that the lighting is nothing like the ones I have seen in videos or screen shots.

Alright, since the tone is on the funny side today here's one for you all...

They may not showing us everything yet or this is a small add-on from a developer, look more like DX11 if you ask me, I got a big patch for Crysis 2 yesterday enabeling DX11 with a lot of stuff included and the lighting effect is "kinda" the same from what little we can see from MS... here is the demo patch for Crysis 2..

Maybe because they are actually showing something new with this shot. We know that the lighting on objects is much better in Flight. We know objects self shadow themselves and other objects now. We are finally seeing all the new lighting and shadowing in one shot. Looks like Flight.

I bet there's a helicopter mission around that area, otherwise it would not be this detailed.

So we've had videos entitled 'free' 'lift' 'soul' and 'explore'....Presumably the next video will be entitled, 'conduct a low level surprise attack in a Nakajima B5N torpedo bomber'Al
