July 14, 201114 yr 1) 737 NGX will be released not before several and several weeks2) MS Flight is an arcade game. Second, how can anyone answer to this question considering that MS Flight will be released on fall 2012 ???
July 14, 201114 yr Anything that PMDG might or might not know about MS Flight! would presumably be covered by Non Disclosure Agreement, which would also prevent me from acknowledging the there was an NDA to prevent me from admitting we know anything about Flight!Without admitting whether or not we know anything, I can tell you that the information that we cannot admit to know or not know could possibly be leading us to believe or not believe that FLIGHT! will offer no backward compatibility. But that is all we would be able to presume, assuming that we were/were not subject to an NDA that may/may not (if it existed at all) prevent us from sharing information that we had/did not have.Sounds like a super injunction to me! July 14, 201114 yr Seinfield? No.You Sir, have been watching too much 'Yes Minister'. That is straight out of Sir Humphrey Appleby's brain!(Example of Sir Humphrey's power of explanation of things; Sir Humphrey: "Yes, yes, yes, I do see that there is a real dilemma here. In that, while it has been government policy to regard policy as a responsibility of Ministers and administration as a responsibility of Officials, the questions of administrative policy can cause confusion between the policy of administration and the administration of policy, especially when responsibility for the administration of the policy of administration conflicts, or overlaps with, responsibility for the policy of the administration of policy.").Although Bernard has the knack of it too... Quote: "Bernard: May I just clarify the question? You are asking who would know what it is that I don't know and you don't know but the Foreign Office know that they know that they are keeping from you so that you don't know but they do know and all we know there is something we don't know and we want to know but we don't know what because we don't know! Is that it?"Well done Robert! :( Cheers,DavidHaha. I thought exactly the same thing David. But I'm not so sure the yanks are familiar with that particular British institution. :( I could be wrong though..Ian

Second, how can anyone answer to this question considering that MS Flight will be released on fall 2012 ???I Hate getting into these type of topics but the last time I checked we don't officially know anything for sure about Flight, but I can pretty much guarantee that it will be a simulation not a game and will be a huge step in the right direction. -Ryan Vince Quote from 911 magazine: "- ...RSR delivers unparallelled performance and stunning looks"
July 14, 201114 yr Second, how can anyone answer to this question considering that MS Flight will be released on fall 2012 ???Probably the same way you came to the conclusion that MS Flight will be an arcade game... <---------------> Mike Murawski
July 20, 201114 yr Probably the same way you came to the conclusion that MS Flight will be an arcade game... For that matter, where do we even get the claimed Fall 2012 release date from? Nothing I've seen from MS has even suggested anything about release dates, let alone whether it's an arcade or a realistic sim.For my money, unless Microsoft Flight can be configured to run as a realistic sim and has equal or better third party addon capabilities for scenery and aircraft, I won't be buying it -- but I don't expect to know that for a long time, and it certainly won't affect my buying decision on the PMDG 737NGX... July 20, 201114 yr Commercial Member I hope the NGX is **NOT** compatible for one reason: it means they trashed the old and started from scratch, hopefully meaning something far superior and faster than we have at present in terms of a base sim.Microprose in 1997 and Eagle Dynamics in 2008+ have set the benchmark - now for others to follow the example.Best regards,Robin.
July 20, 201114 yr I don't foresee MS Flight as something "far superior". Better than FSX in all aspects, I hope, but not that all. As many of us may have realized, there's a huge market behind the "flaws" of FSX. Microsoft may model better backgrounds for the new capabilities that technology is bringing to developers, allowing them to do things before impossible in FSX or FS9, and also make some improvements, like we have already seen in those screeshots, but default MS Flight will still be somewhat poor related to the 3rd party tools and addons we're all used to. July 21, 201114 yr I know from an inside source at Microsoft that FSX models will be compatible, however at an fps loss. The Flight! optimized aircraft will perform much better then FSX, but if you use FSX models in Flight!, you get the very same crappy FSX performance. Regards, Renzo Marcus
